Publisher's summary

We’ve always suspected dogs are magical angels from God. In K9 Spirit Guides, author Heather Leigh Strom gives you proof that our canine companions possess specific divine gifts to facilitate our healing, elevate our awareness, and expand our consciousness as children of God. Man’s best friends have their own spirit guides, which is why they appear in our lives just when we need them most.

Strom narrates a story of a girl and her many dogs. These special K9's found their way to her from throughout the world. However, their clandestine purpose and message wasn’t fully understood for decades. This story tells how these special K9 angels led their owner strategically through a divine journey of self-actualization.

Strom shares how her painful trauma healed instantly with their guidance; how the K9 guides brought her complete understanding of her life, who she was, and where she was going; and how they offered healing, peace, and divine spiritual enlightenment decades after her dogs died.

K9 spirit guides are angelic support entities that connect with us through our canine friends. Essentially, our dogs have spirit guides much like each of us has our own spirit guides that helps us along our journey. Only the dogs’ spirit guides are not present to support the dog; rather, they are here for us! They watch over us offering their unique wisdom and benevolent healing through man’s best friend. They are not your dog’s individual spirit, and they are not what psychics tap into when they tell you what your dog is thinking. These stealth guardians have never spoken out until now. This book serves as their debut, an unveiling of sorts, to enlighten humanity about their presence, their purpose, and their gifts. It is an invitation for humankind to use these gifts to empower expedited healing and enlightenment. These special guides have specific messages for all of us.

K9 Spirit Guides -

I’m so glad I found this book! It’s the story of the Core Four, a team of canine guides who came forward to the author, sharing their will to heal her & the world. Strom is a wonderful storyteller, weaving her incredible life story with the healing and lessons from the guides. Her journey to spiritual sovereignty is laid out; she explains how she integrated the lessons of the Core Four and other guides & mentors who assisted.

The story is at times heartbreaking. It was relatable to me in many ways, making the concept of awakening to my purpose a real possibility. Her passion for speaking her truth is contagious, shining through in her voice as she shares her message in the audiobook. I was left with lingering thoughts about how my life experiences are not coincidental and that there may be some messages right in front of me, if I’m open to receiving them. My very own dog and the others who’ve graced my life also may have been playing more of a role in my life than I’d previously thought! I highly recommend this book, especially if you’re seeking answers on a spiritual path, and it’s a huge bonus if you’re a dog-lover.

Healing and Insightful

I listened to K9 spirit guides a few months after my dog passed and it helped me understand my connection to him on a much deeper level. I’ve always believed dogs have a divine intelligence and this book takes you on a deep dive into a beautiful spiritual realm with the K9 guides. Heather’s personal stories are so inspiring; I admire her honesty and vulnerability. I’ve also experienced a healing session with Heather which was so helpful in moving through some guilt and grief from losing my dog. I have full faith that while his physical form is no longer here, he’s always with me. And we will meet again. Thank you, Heather!

If you want to cry, listen to this book…

Many time I wanted to stop listening and abandon this book. I’ll be honest, I thought this book was about dog spirit guides. Although it has information about spirit guides, most of the book is gut wrenching painful stories about dogs being mistreated by the author or her father.

I know she is telling these stories to teach others but for someone like me who is highly sensitive to the feelings and pain of animals especially dogs, at times it was unbearable. The mysterious disappearance of her first dog with her puppies when author was a small child was painful to hear. The fact that her mother still refuses to tell her what happened to her dog with her puppies makes me think that her parents killed them all. If they gave them away, they would have told her.

Then the story about her selling her dogs to get a horse, it made me really upset. Dogs went from her protectors and best friends to objects to sell because they were not good enough anymore. At the end she lost her dogs and didn’t get the horse. Dogs were upset and devastated not knowing why she sent them away. They never knew another human but her. She betrayed them. The only excuse I will except is she was a teenager at that time. She didn’t know any better.

Her story resonates with me, her childhood, abuse, neglect.. I know she learned a lot and changed because of her experiences. As I sit writing this review, surrounded by my 3 dogs, I’m devastated for the suffering some of the dogs in this book experienced as well as many dogs in the world still do. I often ask, why are these angels have to suffer so much in the hands of the people when all they ever want to do is love them. What will it take to change humanity and be kind?

Overall I recommend that you listen to this book. The lesson is, child abuse leads to animal abuse. Generational pain must be healed and stopped. When parents abuse children because they were abused by their own parents, it changes children’s brains to be abusive towards animals and their own children.

Someone has to stop the pattern and make a decision that they will break this pattern. I know it’s possible because I too was physically and emotionally abused by my parents. Yet, I could never be cruel to my children or animals. As a teenager I looked my mother in the eye and told her that I will live my life exactly opposite of the way she lived hers. I kept my promise and I know that anyone can make a decision not to be cruel.

Precious dogs are here for us to heal. Often they suffer to help us learn and heal the pain.

Update:
I finished the book. The second half of the book was better. Great insight into the dogs’ presence in our lives. I still wish she didn’t give up on her dogs and didn’t break their hearts by “sending them away” or selling them when she lost interest in them after they got so attached to her. Those dogs were punished/sold for doing nothing wrong. Just because you lost interest in them is not a reason to give up.

Those dogs suffered a lot when their hearts were broken. Many lived short lives, 5-7 years, because they lost the will to live. My heart aches for the suffering of these dogs. Dogs become your family, your children. How can you “send them away” because you want a horse instead? Or the dog that got too attached to her and she sent her away. Almost like punishing the child for loving you too much. I love and hate this book…

The best book!

While I wouldn't consider myself to be a "dog person" nor do I have a dog, this book was absolutely spectacular! The further I got into the book the better it got. I resonated with so much of this powerful story and now have a new outlook on our canine friends. I shed many tears listening to this book and didn't want it to be over.
