Love. Family. Betrayal.

What breaks you can also make you strong…

A fateful encounter puts Kenna O’Loughlin in the path of the powerful and rich Grant family. Drawn in by the love and acceptance of patriarch Charles Grant, she finally begins to put the pain of a traumatic childhood behind her. Foul-mouthed and mischievous, she brings life and laughter into the normally staid family.

Nicholas Grant, the scion of the Grant empire, hates Kenna on sight. This mysterious woman has wormed her way into his family and he will do whatever it takes to protect them, even if it means seducing the enemy. Love. Family. Betrayal. What makes you strong can also break you…

Battle lines are drawn as Kenna fights for the family she has always wanted, and Nicholas sets out to prove that Kenna isn't whom she says she is. But what happens when the person you have vowed to hate, draws you to the love of a lifetime?

I LIKED IT!

I enjoyed it! Although this book is very short, it doesn't lack in entertainment! The narration is good. The author did a good job with the characters and plot. I can't wait for the next one. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Short, Quick Read

This was a short read. I liked the storyline, but I didn't like how it ended with no conclusion. I don't mind series. As a matter of fact, I enjoy them. However, I feel a book in a series should have some kind of wrap it all together and still leave you wanting to read more. This just left me thinking I needed more chapters. I enjoyed the story up until the end. If you are going to purchase this book, be prepared to purchase the next in the series which at the time I could not find on Audible. As far as narration goes, I did not like this. It was hard to follow as the narrator's voices all sounded the same despite which character was speaking. It made listening difficult and I found myself having to rewind a few times. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Short

I got this ARC via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This was a quick listen that ended with a jar. Can you say not really ending just stopping? The narrator made it hard to listen to because you didn't always know who was talking. All of the voices sounded the same. The story sounded like it would be good but when you have to take your mind from the story and figure out who is talking then get back into the story continuity is lost. A slight change in voices would cue me into who is talking. But I hate stories that stop without an ending. Then I have to wait for the next book to get to the next part.

Couldn't finish

This book started out with the POV of the main male character. You don't know that right away because the narration is very definitely female. When the character says something that ID's him as undeniably male, it was more than jarring. It didn't get better. When the story changed to the female POV, it was the same voice as the male character. I stopped listening.

Jumped around a bit and narration fell a bit short

Impelled, Volume 1 of The Power Series by JM Blake was an audiobook that I didn't finish. I got a few hours into it and finally gave up. Aside from the poor narration that left me trying to figure out which character was supposed to be speaking, the story just jumped around a lot and I didn't get into it at all. One minute there's a heart attack, the next thing I know, they're all one big happy family, then there's some weird sexual conference meeting, then something else, and on it went...time seemed to pass so quickly without making it clear to the listener.

Danamarie Miorelli's performance was a bit difficult for me to connect to. She seems to have one reading voice, regardless of character or gender. This made following along a bit difficult, especially as I mentioned above, since the story seemed to jump around a bit too. I just really, really couldn't connect and didn't end up finishing this title. I can't recommend the title or narrator, unfortunately. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher for an honest review.
