In a post-apocalyptic ice age, neomage Thorn St. Croix was nearly driven insane by her powers. She lived as a fugitive, disguised as a human, channeling her gifts for war into stone-magery. When she was discovered, her friends and neighbors accepted her, but warily.

Not so the mage who arrives from the Council of Seraphs, who could be her greatest ally or her most dangerous foe. And when her long-gone sister, Rose, is revealed to still be alive, Thorn must make a choice - and risk her own life in the process.

I carefully would recommend this series to anyone! Faith Hunter is the next let writer and brought the characters to life.

Excellent!

If you could sum up Host in three words, what would they be?

End of arc

What was one of the most memorable moments of Host?

Faith's vision of heaven while Thorn was in the "Otherness"

Would you listen to another book narrated by Natalie Gold?

Maybe- The narration was so slow I had to increase my IPAD speed to 1.25 - then i was able to stay awake

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The Devil gets his due.....

Any additional comments?

I am sure Natalie Gold is a great narrator BUT there is ZERO emotion, even during the fights, it's like Thorn is bored- I am sure it's hard to get a character down as good as the narrator does in the Jane Yellowrock series but.. Seem like she's been instructed to leave the personality out of her voice,

The Narrator is sooooo slow

As always Faith hunter created a world full of great characters, plots, background etc.. being that this is the end of the series I expected more closure, the way things ended with thorn and her sister rose doesn’t sit right with me. She showed little care and compassion for someone she professed to love. Someone she knows has gone through years of extreme Torture! What happened to everyone and everything else? Where’s the closure for this series?

Where is the rest?

it's not the best storyline. I listened to her Jane Yellowrock series. This one was before that and missing a lot of character. The restrictions put on the characters kind of hampered them.

It's ok

Faith Hunter needs better narrators. I was excited this book had a different one that the usual one (who is so bad with accents and doing men voices that I read the whole Jane Yellowrock and Soulwood series instead of listening to them). Same will go for this book. Narrator is flat, monotone, and sounds bored. Returning the audiobook after getting to chapter 2, and getting the written version instead.

Awful narrator
