Witches Angelina and Evan Everhart-Trueblood take a case that spirals out of control until the whole city is at risk in this exciting new novel from New York Times bestselling author Faith Hunter.

Angelina Everhart-Trueblood and her brother Evan run Everhart Investigations, a PI firm in Chattanooga that solves paranormal crimes committed by supernatural beings. When their new client wants help finding her friend, who supposedly disappeared during a reception at Angie’s aunt Jane’s winter residence, things get . . . complicated.

The client is not who she appears to be, and demons strike the city for the first time since the Witch War. On top of that, evidence is pointing toward the involvement of an overly ambitious vampire—who just happens to be Angie’s ex-husband.

As Angie and Evan team up with CPD, they will have to dig deep into their magical reserves—and rely on some friends in high places—to rid Chattanooga of the danger creeping into their city.

Wow! Great follow on to the Yellowrock storyline with familiar characters. I can’t wait for the next book! I love Kristine Hvam’s narrative and even hear her voice in my head when U go back to read the books!

Angie Baby and E.J are all grown up with grown up problems. Add to that problems that have been brewing in Jane Yellowrock's world for years.
Faith Hunter has always provided well rounded believable characters. We touch bases with several characters from her other 2 series that take place in this world but I don't think you would have to read them to enjoy this book.Though if you enjoy this book as much as I did you will want to look them up!
One thing that I appreciate in Faith's books is actions have consequences. You hold on to a magical item too long it hurts your hand. You use a magical ability too long you risk burn out. If you go too long with out eating or sleeping, you can't react as well. I have read (and enjoyed) books where, no one eats or sleeps and it doesn't affect their performance, it requires more suspension of belief.
Khristine Hvam is one of our favorite narrators, she does voices well and provide dept of feeling.

Hope this is the first in a new series!

Loved this latest addition to the world of The Dark Queen. Angie and EJ are grown and dealing with the past and present. Faith Hunter's world and history development really enrich this storyline and make the characters relatable. Kristine Hvam's narration is spot on as always!

I loved it all, Khristine Hvam is a savant with all the voices, and different personalities.

Don't miss this

I love that Jane Yellowrock survived the "cancer" that was in her body.

this story was fun, straight to the action though. I would have liked a bit more character development if the grown versions of EJ and Angie Baby. I will always read anything by with Kristine hcam narrating also

I love faith Hunter and the story yes
