Publisher's summary

As the third wave of the virus hits, all inhabitants of Melbourne are given until 8pm to get to their homes. Wherever they are when the curfew hits, they must live for four weeks and stay within a 5km radius. When Lou’s son Samuel doesn’t arrive home by nightfall she begins to panic.

He doesn’t answer his phone. He doesn’t message. His social media channels are inactive. Lou is out of her mind with worry, but she can’t go to the police, because she has secrets of her own.  Secrets that Samuel just can’t find out about.  Lou must find her son herself and bring him home.

A fast-paced psychological thriller for fans of Tell Me Lies and Trapdoor.

Get past the first eight chapters and you’re good

Aimee Horne, as usual, is fantastic. The story here is miserable. The characters are miserable, trying to get through the minutia of the first 8-12chapters was very, very difficult for me. I suppose if you live in Australia and we’re around during these awful times, it would be a good story for you. I couldn’t relate to any of this, I’m not a parent, nor do I ever want to be and the main character in the story was a very miserable woman, probably drug addicted, smothering mess of a mother. Really just I swear the verbiage in the storyline is just awful. What a letdown from the usual work of the author. And these fake reviews are terrible. The endings aren’t so crazy. It’ll blow you off your seat. Usually the author is very good at storytelling, this really missed them mark. just my opinion but that’s my review.

unexpected ending

I was completely engaged. The story was fast, interesting and the end was unexpected, but made sense. Great book!

Love the twists

The main character is so annoyingly overbearing. I struggled with the first part of the book having to hear so much from her perspective. But I promise it’s worth continuing. I really enjoyed the authors other books and this one did not disappoint.

Did not see the twist

Another great book by Pomare. I love her flawed characters. They have their flaws but they also have redeeming qualities. The narrator is incredible.

The originality or the plots. So refreshing to hear something different! I highly recommend this story.

Entertaining

Not quite good enough to use a credit to purchase but just good enough to enjoy. Good twists and turns and keeps you guessing.
