Publisher's summary

In this informative, iconoclastic book, veteran foreign correspondent Martin Sieff offers a jaw-dropping survey of the history and politics of a region that people know surprisingly little about, even though it's continually in the newspapers.

The Incorrect information

Any additional comments?

This is not the political incorrect guide to the middle east; this book is just incorrect facts and information about the middle east and rest of the world. I could list the factual errors of the book, and you'll be amazed how an author could have that many mistakes in a short text in this age of the internet! Just do a quick search on the internet and you will find that who was the leader of Ottoman Empire at the start of 20th century. Believe or not but in this book, the author claims that Wilhelm II succeeded Otto von Bismarck in the German Empire!Even talking about this book is absurd. I do not know how I made the mistake and bought the audio version of it.

Not the best P.I.G.

Mostly, I enjoy this series of books. There were some good moments in this book, such as a strong support of Israel. However, I think the author got a few ideas wrong. His support for Saudi Arabia is probably misplaced. Also, bhis favorite Israeli PM was Sharon, but he was the one who gave Gaza away, leading to the rocket attacks today. And he barely mentioned the work of the best Israeli PM (in my opinion), Binyamin Netanyahu.
