Publisher's summary

"In Fool's Errand, Scott Horton masterfully explains the tragedy of America's longest war and makes the case for immediate withdrawal. I highly recommend this excellent book on America's futile and self-defeating occupation of Afghanistan." - Daniel Ellsberg, Pentagon Papers whistleblower and author of Secrets: A Memoir of Vietnam and the Pentagon Papers

"The real story of the disastrous US war in Afghanistan must be written so that future generations may understand the folly of Washington's warmongers. Scott Horton's Afghan war history is an important contribution to this vital effort." - Ron Paul, M.D., former US congressman and author of Swords into Plowshares: A Life in Wartime and a Future of Peace and Prosperity

I learned so much.

Scott has been doing the same thing for over a decade and he’s gotten so good. Go back and listen to his show on YouTube. The man kept the same beat and never misses a beat. He’s going to ask and answer all the right questions about why the war in Afghanistan happened, all the filthy nonsense that’s gone on, and why it needs to end now.

All you need to know about the endless war in Afgh

Fool's errand is by one of my favorite anti-war writer's Scott Horton. Scott goes in depth on the stupidity of America's war policy in Afghanistan. From Bush to Obama and the first year of Trump we seem to go round and round fighting enemies that seem to become more emboldened the more we decide to send to troops and money.

"People need to know what happened here"

Amazing. This not only tells the story of Afghanistan, also of the entire war on terror. This book should be mandatory reading at schools.

Shocking and fantastic

Horton's explanation of the US intervention in Afganistan as a failure is hard to disagree with when put in the accurate and detailed historical and political context provided here. A truly great listen

Critically insightful

Dense, but without fatigue. Incredibly well researched and sourced. This is the honest take the US needs to hear.
