Beauty and the Russian Beast

Sola: Ivan Rustanov is a total jackhole. He has no conscience, and he’s no holds barred dangerous--the kind of guy you just know has a body count in his back story. And now he's forcing me to stay in his remote mountain home as his prisoner until spring. He wants me in his bed, but that will never happen. I hate him. Or at least I should. Shouldn't I?

Ivan: A few years ago, having a curvy prisoner in my home wouldn't have been a problem. A few years ago I wasn't broken, damaged beyond all repair.

I thought I was dead inside... until she came along and awakened me in ways I never thought were possible for a brute like me.

But what will become of us when her past and mine collide? Can a monster like me ever become the man she deserves?

This is book 4 in the Ruthless Russians series.

Witty story.

Loved the story because it had lots of passion and heart. Excellent narration. I read the story first and the audio portrayal was on point.

Too Short

I enjoyed the angst and second chance for forever love. But, credits are expensive. Most story please.

loved the story but...the Greek??

Loved the story overall but I'm very curious about the Greek dude. Is this a clue to a soon-to-be story? If so I can't wait!

wow that was awesome

Of all the Rustanovs, Ivan seemed the most damaged. Ivan and Sola, I mean I have no words. Their story was so authentic with a bit extra thrown in. I love how Ms. Taylor ties her books together in this 50 loving states super series. Great narration. Definitely a must read.

Billionaire trope getting old

Clementine Dove is a great narrator, one of my favourites. But her badass Russian accent is caricatural, sadly. Nevertheless, she knows how to read a story. So praise to her.

I have consumed many, many of Mrs Taylor's romantic/erotic tales. However, I'm growing tired of her lead male's "alpha" profiles... billionaires, CEOs, high profile assassins, when they're not rockstars or star sportsmen, etc.

The trope of men with larger than life looks, bodies, personalities, money and issues, who are broken and have gone through some kind of trauma is growing old. The overall extensive use of it in romance storytelling is nauseating.

Yes, these men inspire thrills, chills, as well as empathy. Oh! And then we just have to love them when we discover that they are decent human-beings behind all their meanness and crap, once the heroine awakens higher values and love within their dark souls. However, there's something terribly girlish and superficial about the trope, as it plays and reinforces women's erroneous belief that they're able "to change" a man...

My take is that it's time to have more down to earth heroes, who have no blood on their hands, are of average height and muscle mass, why not someone with a pot belly, huh ? If your heroines can be curvy or plump, why are your men always cut out like "super men"?

I understand women's "as old as time" fantasy to have some powerful, rich, successful , DDG dude take care of them, protect and "save them"... but come on Mrs Taylor, we're in the 21st century now... and many "sisters are doing it for themselves" since the 1980s, well at least according to Aretha Franklin and Eurythmics, to name just them.

So just MAYBE, it would be refreshing for such a talented writer, as Mrs Talyor, to get out of her comfort zone and take on a creativity challenge by cooking-up male lead characters who are average, both in size, strength, intelligence and background; someone grounded in everyday reality and who still manages to have an interesting personal development arc; a hero, who'd be more like most of the female characters she makes-up, pretty ordinary women, actually.
