Really good. Very emotional.

This story is an emotional roller-coaster,an almost gothic romance, with some very surprising twists. It has a lot of emotional depth and many moments where you are shaking your head at the FMC but her actions make more sense as her history with the MC is slowly revealed. The narrator is a bit slow but I thought her voice and inflection served the story well. I had to see what happens next so read thr second book on Kindle Unlimited and I wasn't disappointed! If you like emotionally dark romance novels with a HEA but a still little bittersweet then you will like this book.

Unable to finish

I actually like the story, but I am unable to finish the simply because of the narrator. The reading is flawless, but so incredible monotone that it’s annoying. Resembles the young autistic genius doctor in that TV show I don’t remember the name of:-). Make sure to sample before you buy to make sure.

Narration not great, improved at 1.4-1.5X speed

So this was my first read/listen of the Broken Hearts Academy duet by CR Jane. I have read other CR Jane books so I knew she would be pulling and twisting our heartstrings, like she always does 😊 I was pleasantly surprised about the subject/nuances in this book because we don't always get a story that shows the darkness and hardships that come with mental health besides depression and anxiety. Not selling those short, but I haven't come across a lot of books with a character suffering a different mental illness (I won't spoil it but it is revealed not long into the book). I thought that to me made it more realistic, especially since I had an aunt who suffered that same illness along with bi-polar disorder and she would go through some of the episodes mentioned in Heartbreak Prince. I commend CR for being real and honest with this. I will say that I was not a fun of the MC to be honest. I don't think she can redeem herself in my eyes, in terms of how she treated the different brothers. You can't just substitute one for the other and think it will be ok. I was surprised how my opinion of the guys changed throughout the book, another kudo to CR Jane for not shying away from abuse (not going to say more, you will just need to read and listen to find out). Just be prepared for some triggers, if you have any, since there is tough topics in this book. I will say the ending was a shock and I am excited to read book 2 because I didnt expect that to happen haha.

Honestly though, the narration wasn't my favorite. I didnt think Courtney provided the correct inflections in some instances and was slow and repetitive with her performances. I think for me speeding it up to 1.4-1.5X made it ok, which is why I bumped it up to a 3 stars for the performance. I didnt feel like I had to stop listening (some narrators do that to me, I can be a snob sometimes I'll admit) but I think she just didnt make it exciting or compelling, which is not what you want from a narrator.

Overall I would give this story a shot as long as you can listen to the narration (try speeding it up, it helps). I definitely will be checking out book 2 of this duet, I need to know what happens next ❤️

Such a good story

First of all, freaking love the cover! 😍💯!! I do have to agree with some of the other reviewers that the narrator is not my favorite. Her normal voice is great, but some of the other voices are not my favorite. HOWEVER, it is not enough to turn me off from the book! It's still a fabulous audiobook and worth listening to!!
This was definitely an emotional ride from the first page to the last! It was hot, frustrating, filled with tension, and ends with a bang. Definitely recommend the ride!

Horrible narrator.

Honestly, I can’t even comment on the story as the horrible narration ruined the book. Also, if you have dual POV in first person, you need dual narration.

Worst book I’ve listened to on Audible in years !

This book... omg . The narrator ! The worst ! So bad that I’ve memorized her name never to listen to another book by her . The book was bad ! I mean the FMC was TSTL! I was hoping she gets killed off for being so dumb, but add that with the narrator and this is the worst book I’ve ever read ! Don’t bother to read this book. The FMC WAS NOTHING BUT HORNY! Basically the few chapters I read , she has no backbone and let her tormentor do whatever to her stupid self because she was just too horny to control it . Geezus talk about degrading to females . And if you insist on reading , don’t listen to it ok audible !

Wow!!Just Wow!!

Not sure how else to put it this book has it all. All the emotions one sec you're laughing the next you're crying and then some. I would definitely recommend this book. I'm just a little bummed the next book isn't yet on audible so i can listen and do other stuff cause I'm so addicted to the story it's hard to put down.

Easy on the bully

I wanted to love this book. I heard amazing by things about it but over all it’s just a good story. It’s lacking the emotional attachment or emotional whiplash that comes with so many bully books. Also being a bully read I feel like it’s more of a stalker book because all the bullying is done in secret. Sure we assume it’s the main character but there isn’t any proof ever given even when he’s confronted about it. The story is a good one though. It ends in a cliffhanger and I will be reading the next one. The narrator for me wasn’t my favorite. She didn’t do the male characters well. I felt she was just to feminine and I giggles a lot when she was playing the male role.

A love triangle you can't pass up!

All is not as it seems in this love story between twin brothers (Jackson and Caiden) and their childhood best friend, Everly. The story is told with the haunting narration, which adds to the emotional turmoil you'll experience. C.R. Jane has unfolded the mystery of Caiden's accident in such a way, you won't want to stop the book. The expertise in which mental health is entwined into the characters is honest and done with extreme care. Heartbreak Prince is a captivating story of love lost, misunderstanding, and hidden truths. Highly recommend.

I can not wait for the second book! HP is full of angst and heartache. It was so beautifully written! The narrator was so so but I love the story so much that I can get past it!

Amazing Audiobook 😍

This is my first audio book I’ve listened to by C.R. Jane and let me tell you it was amazing! I’m a massive fan of C.R. Jane’s works already but having the opportunity to listen to her recent audiobook release has been amazing!

This book is amazing, it truly takes you on an emotional rollercoaster! This bully romance is full of raw emotion that explores love at it’s best times and worst times! This book had me tied up in knots and I cannot wait for the next instalment!

The narrator Courtney Wohl does an amazing performance of portraying the characters, and conveys the emotions and feelings really well! I honestly did enjoy this audio book and truly cannot wait for the next one to be released!

An amazing and heartbreaking story

I've read this book before it came out on audio, and I loved every second of it. This friends-to-lover story is a gripping and emotional read, filled with despair and love. It shows love at it best and it's very worst from 2 different men, and the woman caught in between, because she didn't know how to follow her heart.

I will admit that I think the narrator left a lot to be desired from her performance. While this is very much an individual like/dislike, she didn't measure up to what I imagined in my head. However, I also have to keep in mind that this is one of my all time favourite reads, so that absolutely left big shoes to fill. For a stranger to be able to hit what my mind had already conjured up.
