The Hollow Boys had me in a chokehold for months!!! If you’re second guessing starting this bc you think it can’t compare, or will sour in comparison… just read it!! You won’t regret it I promise!!! The scene where all the Hollow boys came together I almost cried!!! (It was not an emotional scene yet there I was lol)

If you enjoyed the Hollow Boys series, you'll love this.The River Styx Heathens are the next generation. Even though this is a standalone series, it would help to read The Hollow Boys series. I had a big smile anytime the boys were in the picture.
Monty Jay is a fantastic storyteller. She paints a picture in every scene. You feel like you're there and feeling all the emotions. I can't wait for the next one.
Duet narration by Liam Dicosimo and Michelle Sparks. They were perfect for these characters.

Welcome to Ponderosa Springs’s version on Romeo and Juliet. This is not the story we expect. This version is definitely for the dark romance lovers. The story is well written and the characters are divine. The narrators matched perfectly with the characters. Dark and broody vs the loner.

Star crossed lovers that go through a lot to get their HEA.
Misguided by assumptions, they start out hating each other. Their attraction made it difficult for them stay away from each other. This was a very good story with characters that will draw you into their lives.

Everything I needed!!

This was exactly what I needed after my hangover from her hollow boys series!! I didn’t think it could get better, but then Monty decides to write a second generation and do it PERFECTLY!! I am obsessed with her writing and all of these characters.
We got the perfect glimpse into our hollow boys all grown up and as parents and ahhh I just loved it so much!! The writing style, mixed with the narrators and I was so immersed into Ponderosa Springs, once again.
Jude & Phi might be one of my favorite couples!!! I loved their Romeo & Juliet type romance and could not ask for more!! I’m so excited to see what this 2nd gen does!

100% worth the listen. The duet style narration is so perfectly done and fits the characters so well!!

The audiobook took this 5⭐️ read to an entirely new level.

Normally, I think nothing can beat the magic of a first read, but this audiobook reread might have proved me wrong 🤭. The narrators brought Jude and Phi’s story to life with such intensity and emotion that it felt like experiencing it for the first time all over again.

For fans of The Hollow Boys and dark romance lovers alike, this book is a masterpiece. Truly the best Romeo and Juliet retelling I’ve ever read. Period.

This book is a work of art.

Monty crafted a dark romance that is not only achingly romantic and deliciously spicy but also written with the lyrical beauty of poetry. I’ve never been the biggest Romeo and Juliet retelling fan… until this book.

Jude and Phi’s love is the very definition of a slow burn, but when it finally ignites, it sets the world on fire (yes, I hope you appreciated that 🔥 reference).

I’ve been eagerly anticipating this book since September, and let me tell you—it was worth every second of the wait.

Most importantly, this story feels like a love letter to The Hollow Boys fans. While you don’t have to read that series first to enjoy it… you absolutely should 🤷🏽‍♀️.
