Loved it!!!

I’m very picky. Listened to Audiobooks for years now. Usually 4 to 5 per month. Happened to stumble upon this series. 5 stars well deserved!

Fast paced with plenty of action...

I really like the Jack Winchester series by Jon Mills. Winchester is always getting himself into situations that are dangerous and inescapable and generally deadly. This story is one of those. The Honduras prison is realistically portrayed. Winchester's escape plans not so much.
I have enjoyed the previous books a little more, especially book #s 6 & 7.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this entire series and look forward to book #9 getting released on Audible.

My least favorite

I didn’t like this installment so much. ( spoilers as to story set up, not conclusion ). Suddenly Jack, who typically has a level head and quite savvy about the ways of the seedy underworld is duped by his worthless mother.—who abandoned him to abuse and only shows up after 38 years because her new son from her new family (that’s she’s lived with in affluence while writing off Jack) Is in trouble.
So she whines and says sorry, I made a mistake . Even though she seemed to not care about any of that until she needs him to rescue her new favored son from a Honduras prison.
Again, none of this “we’re family” crap mattered until they were in trouble.

But instead of walking away, dumbass Jack decides to help anyway and bumbles his way by himself into Honduras where he throws money around trying to bribe his brother out and then of course that backfired and all goes to hell. Not only does Jack get himself into this mess, he’s surprised that it turns out badly and it’s “unfair”.

I found myself rolling my eyes and fast forwarding through parts because I just couldn’t take it. I would have returned it but it’s so short it was half over before I couldn’t take it anymore

Love this series..

Wow! If a foreign prison is anything like the one Jack was in, to save his brother, then drug dealers who try to bring drugs across the border deserve to be put in one. Jesus, our prisons are like a walk in the park compared to other prisons. *Shiver*

There were a couple of nice surprises in this story. Still a lot of killing but nice surprises.

No romance and the F-bomb was used 23 times.

As to the narration: Yay! Adam Gold does such a great job.
