Publisher's summary

How hard can it be to guard the country’s biggest rockstar?

As a SEAL officer, I’m no stranger to danger, but running my own security firm is a new challenge. Finding the right bodyguard for each client isn’t easy. Our next gig? My little brother’s best friend, rock god Ezra Moon, has a security crisis. Ezra is convinced I’m the right man for the job, but I’m not so sure.

From crowd surfing to infamous pictures, Ezra is known for taking risks. It’s no wonder his record label thinks he needs a keeper on tour.

But there’s not a tour bus big enough to contain our incendiary attraction. Ezra and his antics push every last one of my buttons, but the real problem is how much I want to kiss some sense into him. He’s a client, and angry make-out sessions aren’t the answer. Yet we keep finding ourselves alone and burning up the sheets until our secret fling threatens to scorch both of us.

I’ve spent my whole life running from the spotlight, trying to distance myself from my notorious father. Ezra wants to live his best life on the biggest stage. A future seems impossible, but our feelings are undeniable. Can I admit how hard I’ve fallen for Ezra without losing everything?

Hard Job is book two in a brand-new SEAL bodyguard series. It features a reluctant SEAL bodyguard, a mouthy rock star with a heart of gold, molten chemistry, and pie. Lots of pie. Also, all the high heat, big emotions, and found family feels listeners expect from this fan-favorite military romance author. Join A-List security for this new series featuring former SEALs and the celebrity clients who win their hearts. Happy endings and no cliffhangers guaranteed!

So enjoyable!

Give me a bodyguard romance any day! I loved everything about Hard Job. It's a great addition to the A-List Security series.
At first glance Duncan seems cold and unfeeling. Having been a SEAl he has learned to keep his emotions on lockdown. He also learned that lesson well having grown up in a emotionally distant family.
Ezra is the complete opposite, wearing his emotions for all to see. He loves the spotlight and treats his band and fans as family.
These two strike sparks off each other. The chemistry is off the charts HOT! I loved the dynamics between these guys. As much as they fought it neither could resist the other.
This is a wonderfully sweet, sexy romance that I devoured in one sitting!
Kirt Graves does an outstanding job narrating this wonderful story.

So great!

I love this series. Anna Beth writes great characters and Kirt Graves is my all time favorite narrator! His voice is so smooth and easy to listen to. He brings all the characters to life and rocks a female voice!!

This wasn’t a book about a rock star fife but about his relationship with Duncan.

I was glad the characters from the first book made it into the end of this one! I loved them all!!!

Kirt Graves helps us fall in love with Hard Job

I’d already loved Annabeth Albert’s Hard Job and other books read by Kirt Graves. The combination?: 10 out of 10 would recommend! Graves is so skilled at making dialog versus internal monologue clear. Each character gets their own voice without any awkwardness. Graves lets the writing and the characters shine. I loved listening to the story after having read it and will definitely read and listen again.

Safe can be so sexy

Duncan made Ezra feel safe. And Ezra made Duncan feel safe. I’m not sure either of them knew they were looking for that. The result was sweet heat. 🔥

Ezra and Duncan are so good together.
The ending, *chef’s kiss* perfect!

I really love Annabeth’s writing.
Kirt does a good job breathing life into those words. It’s a great pairing and makes a good listening experience (even if he does have strange ways of pronouncing a few recurring words 😄).

Which A-list Security guy gets the next story? Time to go find out.

Another hit from Annabeth!

I liked this book even better then book #1
It might be because Ezra and Duncan have a history together (and in book #1 they do not) so I felt like the connection was more established to begine with.
Or maybe because there is no GFY/OFY so they can get it on fast and it feels more natural for me.
I really enjoyed how the author wove their personalities together, made them similar in some aspects and complementary on others. They have a very balanced relationship, HOT chemistry and you can really feel the magical attraction Duncan has for Ezra as a singer.
The narration was good, I still like other narrator for this author, not sure why exactly. I think maybe they get more emotional range from the story, but Kirt does an amazing job as usual.

Looking for the next book!

grumpy/sunshine

Hard Job is sooo good!! Hard Job is the second story in the A-List Securities series. Duncan is an ex-Seal and somewhat grumpy. Ezra is a rockstar who needs protection and is pure freakin sunshine. Ezra is also Duncan’s little brother’s friend. Duncan doesn’t believe in love, his father made sure of that. He’s hasn’t had good role models. Ezra is funny and sweet and so not what Duncan thought he was. He is always helping everyone. The backstories of how they both grew up couldn’t have been more different. The chemistry between Ezra and Duncan is instantaneous, hot and steamy. The relationship between them has a nice steady progression. Kirt Graves was a fantastic choice for narration. He brought the characters to life! Overall, a really great listen!! Fantastic pacing

Another great one!

I have to say, Annabeth Albert knows how to tap directly into my feels. Add in Kirt Graves and I’m completely done in.

A grumpy/sunshine, hidden relationship and some other complicated dynamics has this duo - an energetic pop-star and the son of famous philanderer - in for an interesting ride. More than once, I found myself tearing up as the struggled toward their HEA.

Kirt Graves provides a great narration and I expect to listen to this one again and again.

An ARC of this audio book was provided in exchange for my honesty review.

Solid performance from Kirt!

Low angst bodyguard romance!

I really loved this book! It’s very low angst - there is a little blip of drama, but it’s resolved quickly. The story is mostly focused on Duncan and Ezra falling in love; it’s all very romantic with some steamy scenes mixed in. Duncan has a LOT of hang ups and a warped view of himself, and I loved the way Ezra helps him work through those feelings and open himself up to the possibility of love, commitment, and friendship. Ezra has things more figured out, but he definitely needs someone like Duncan to ground him and encourage him to take life a little more seriously. These two had a lot of chemistry, but they also built a really solid foundation and friendship. You know things are going to be good when the guys feel comfortable and vulnerable around each other in a way they never are with anyone else.

I liked the first book, but loved this one. It can definitely be read as a stand-alone, but I do encourage giving the first book a try, especially if you’re into the bodyguard trope. I’m really looking forward to the next book! I can’t wait to see who snags Harley’s attention.

An entertaining narration - by Shana W

I first read this as an ebook, and thoroughly enjoyed the plot, the characters, and the author's writing style. Reading it now as an audiobook really makes the story come alive. The narrator is Kirt Graves. He is very easy to listen to, with a mellifluous voice, and good pacing and character voices. I highly recommend this book, in both its ebook and audiobook forms.
