Loved it!

What a great start to the South Rock High series. I loved the prequel novella, Getting Schooled, and Ancient History was even better. I love Amos! He's so cute and funny and him and Hutch are just everything together. I loved seeing them get their happy ending. They both deserved it and were both over due for some happiness. The characters in this series are wonderful, great plot, and love the small town of Sourwood. Very much looking forward to Everett and Raleigh's book.

i enjoyed the narration, there was a good amount of emotion in the narrator's voice that put me in the story.

I so thoroughly enjoy this book i first read it on my kindle and love it ,i was waiting for it on audio and was fully on board when i found out it was Iggy Toma ! its sweet funny and so enjoyable so AJ Truman

One of the best MM books

This is my first MM book from a male author and I loved it so much. I as a gay man loved it so much and I listen to many MM books written by women and this was a breath of fresh air. I loved this book so much and loved the story and characters. They were so cute and sexy. I loved everything about this book and can't wait to read the next book. I give this book 10/10

I Fell in Love

Ancient History by A.J. Truman completely caught me off guard—in the best possible way.

I went into this book looking for a fun, easy audiobook listen, something light and entertaining. What I didn’t expect was to fall fully in love.

This is just a genuinely good, fun audiobook from start to finish. The humor lands, the pacing is smooth, and the story feels effortless in a way that’s hard to pull off. I found myself smiling constantly—and occasionally laughing out loud.

Amos is an absolute delight. He’s incredibly funny, self-aware, and charming without ever being over-the-top. The kind of character who feels chaotic and earnest at the same time, and somehow makes every scene better just by being in it. I adored him.

And Hutch—quietly romantic perfection. He’s steady, warm, and emotionally grounding in a way that balances Amos beautifully. Their dynamic is cozy, funny, and deeply affectionate, with chemistry that feels natural rather than forced.

The tone ended up being funnier, sweeter, and more heartfelt than I expected. The angst is low and very manageable—just enough to add depth without pulling the story into heavy territory. This is a romance that wants you to feel good, and it succeeds.

I picked this up wanting an easy read and ended up completely in love.

4.5 stars — charming, funny, emotionally warm, and a perfect comfort listen.
