Problem: Time based training
I loved the performance, advice and preparation techniques of this program. The only think I should caution you following Katie's program is that it's time based instead of distance based. The longest run she has in this program is 1h30m session. For experienced half marathoners this may be fine, but for someone like me who finished his half in 2h20m minutes, NOT SO GOOD! Unfortunately I was under the impression that I can finish my race with the proper pace but what I ended up was an injury in my right feet and I believe the reason is that I should've practiced at least close to 13 miles during my training, but I just followed her program and ended up with a lot of pain.

Perfect Motivation
I saw this program advertised on Audible's home page and decided to give it a try just to see if I could handle it. I'm in nursing school, so I had been jogging casually for around three months prior in order to relieve some stress. That being said, being active is absolutely requisite for this training program as I don't think I would have been able to stay on track with the regimen without the previous three months of daily cardio. It is challenging but 100% rewarding. I finished both part one and two of Katie's program and completed my first half-marathon two days ago (1:52:05!). I didn't even dream of getting a sub 2 hour half-marathon, but the program trains your body and mind in ways you don't even realize until you're in the thick of it on race day. I did everything Katie said to do (lots of water the day before race day, plently of sleep/recovery, tapering, nutrition, negative split, etc.), and it worked like a charm.

This is fantastic!!
In the time of coronavirus, or really any time at all, this training program is incredible at providing guidance and structure. I have been a 3 mile runner for years (and slow runner at that) and Katie is making the half marathon challenge easy. Just finished my first 5 mile run and I’m feeling great! The only note for slow runners (I run anywhere between a 10.45 and 11.15 min mile) Is that I need to continue running after the program is over to finish my mileage, which is a bit of a let down. For instance, the 50 minute program only got me to 4.5 miles and I needed to run five, so it would be nice if they’d left inspirational music on for us slow movers... other than that it is great

Update: I felt GREAT on race day!
It’s one thing if the training runs are fun. It’s another thing if the training gives you a good race. I did everything I could that Katie said to do, and I felt very prepared—physically and mentally—on race day. I felt good throughout the race, knew what to do, even though it was my first half, and my performance was as good as it could have been. This program prepares you very well to run a half, and the way it’s structured, you run to your ability, so it’s good for beginner and experienced half-marathoners.

Brought me back from burnout!
I have slogged hundreds of miles.. training alone. Frankly, this led to some serious burnout. I came across this in our Audible Library after my wife downloaded it. I'm happy she did! This program is like having someone on the run with me....keeping me accountable! Running certainly feels fun again. Without question, a "MARATHON Training" needs to be produced........same narrator, same format! David A

Good motivation; great training
I love the music that plays in each episode. This is good motivation and great training for improving my running habits. I’ve never had a running coach and this feels like I’ve paid for a premier personal trainer to give me on-demand content.

great program for 5k runners
5k runners can pick this up and go. Should probably be able to at least have a consistent run for 20 minutes before starting this. I've gotten through this half of the program without any problems or injuries. Only gripe I have is the repetitive music selection, and maybe could use more coaching specifics on form, stretching, and pace. maybe switch up music with inspirational running stories.

Good for all levels of runners
I've used a few different audio coached running programs. Most fall short about midway through the program. I downloaded part 1 and liked it so much that I also got part 2. (If you are training for a half, you'll want to get the full program.) No matter if it's your first run or you're working towards your first half marathon, this program will work for you. It includes long runs, interval runs, tempo and hills. The workouts are time based and cues are for changes in intensity, so the distance you cover on any run depends on your pace. Katie also gives lots of tips and cues on running form and motivation. I'm really enjoying this program (now into part 2). Seeing that you can do more in 30 or 50 minutes as you progress is much more encouraging and motivating then struggling to make a certain mileage and feeling like it's taking you too long to complete. I'd love to see more running (and maybe cycling) training programs on Audible.

Best Running Coach!
I turned 50 this year and decided I wanted to try something new. I have never really enjoyed running, but have done small races in town on occasion. I found this training quite by accident on Audible. It has inspired me to run my first half marathon this year! Katie is amazing! She coaches you through the training as if she is right there with you, not only with her encouragement but expert tips about race preparation. I’m at week 5 and just downloaded the part 2 of this course. I don’t know about experienced runners, but if you are new to distance running, it is excellent.
