Freed from the dungeon, Tad now has a wider world to explore, even as he is pursued by an enemy intent on using Tad's power for his own ends.

More of his forgotten past will be revealed even as he finds out more about his place in the multiverse. New allies and new enemies will appear.

I found this series hooked me and I genuinely care for the characters. Looking forward to more books!

Good series

Appropriately named, Growth shows Tad's evolution in fun new revelations that delight and surprise at every chance. I don't want to give away spoilers in the review. So I’ll be vague. I enjoyed the new ‘voice’ coming to find him and him embracing his heritage.

Like the new revelations

This was a nice follow up to Tad's escape from the dungeon. it is not filler, filler is content that the author didn't intend. I loved the lore drops about Tad's heritage and how he is processing that information. I enjoyed seeing his friendships grow as well. I am hopeful for a quick release of the next book.

ignore the haters below.

Nothing really happens. Lots of preaching about morality and crafting, but not much actually happening. Last bit is a preview too so the book is actually like 60-70% of the length of book 1. What happened? There is an insane amount of filler and not much plot development. MC also got dumber in this book.

Filler Book

This series is middling, at best, for litrpg.

Best laugh in this book was the author trying to minimalize the animal sexualization, then continue to sexualize a lizard, then a tree. and I'm not shaming the bestiality, def not for me, but if you're putting it in your book - why try to say you're not?

Lots of deus ex machina.
Lots of explaining a skill/item - for it to be used the next chaper, then never mentioned again.

He can heal for 22levels of healing! He can do 44levels of damage!!
What does that even mean? what is a level of damage?

Last 50 min are an ad for another series

I like the overall story. I like the idea of the character. But I’m struggling with the execution. The MC spends way too much time in his own head, thinking about things, rather than doing them.

Also, this is the second book and I have no idea how the magic system is supposed to work. Sometimes, he just does things and even he is surprised by the result. And sometimes he just wants to do something, he wants it to work a certain way, so it does. Either way, it doesn’t feel like a “system” it feels like made-up handwavium.

The narrator is “ok” but can get on my nerves sometimes. I was able to handle it a lot better after bumping it up to 2x speed.

Not the best, but not bad

A boat full of armed soldiers who want to kill you and a second boat full of people who want to sell you into slavery are within sight of your boat and coming to get you. Do you A.) Haul ass and get away or B.) Decide to go swimming to catch fish? If you picked Option B then this is the book for you. If you picked A, then now you have an idea of the way the MC is making decisions in this book.

Also the author has gone off the rails with mental flagellation and waffling seemingly for the express purpose of taking up space and word count. It wasn't adding anything to the story before and it still isn't.

There is a story here it's just buried under a lot of BS. Also about half the book is about crafting. If that is your thing you’ll like it. If you prefer action and adventure you’ll find it lacking.

Also the last 49 minutes is another “Preview for another book”. So padding/runtime filler.

Ooof terrible pacing and nonsense decisions
