Publisher's Summary

Jilted by text message.
Honeymooning with her grandma.
The resort's bartender may look like Jason Momoa, but Roxy is NOT interested.

Getting dragged along anyway on her Hawaiian honeymoon by her self-centered sister and irreverent grandma is the icing on the horrible wedding-day cake.

Can Kai, the resort's hunky and talented chauffeur/bartender/flame-thrower, turn this disaster of a trip into a romantic adventure to last a lifetime?

Or will his mysterious secrets keep their love from blossoming?

Great RomCom & Audible Listen🎧 Enjoyable Fun!

This is a delightful story, a great balance of humor and heart. I enjoyed Anna Omasta’s writing, as well as her narration. The storylines and characters she created are interesting, they immediately grabbed my attention and held it right to the end. Roxy was a jilted bride, she received a text from her fiancé on their intended wedding day telling her he couldn’t do it and he was in love with her best friend. Her grandmother, Baggy, takes charge, whisks Roxy and her sister Ruthie away in her fiance’s car. Her grandmother is a hoot, love how she got her name Baggy and she sure lived up to it. Next step for the trio is the honeymoon in Hawaii, unknown where they were booked to stay, thankfully someone from the resort is holding up a sign with her ex’s last name. That someone was Kai, a tall hunk of a man who looks like Jason Momoa. A bit of confusion is cleared up and he brings them to the resort. I loved how everything plays out, Baggy meets someone, Ruthie meets someone who then crushes her heart and Roxy and Kai hit it off too. Ann Omasta fit a lot of story into this book, the dialogue is hysterical at times and there are some sweet heartfelt moments as well. Is there a HEA for Roxy, what kind of trouble does Baggy get herself into. I highly recommend this book, it is entertaining and will put a smile on your face.

I listened to the Audible edition, Ann Omasta did a wonderful job narrating her story. She not only created these characters but she brings them to life right off of the pages giving each their own voice and personality. She was awesome at projecting the emotions of the characters into her performance as well as the humor and the drama. Thank you for this great story and listen 🎧

SO FUNNY!

I absolutely loved it!. Although this story is quick it doesn't lack in entertainment! This book was full of humor and romance. The narration was great and will keep you entertained. The author does a great job with the character builds and plot. This was not my first book by this author and I look forward to reading more! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Carpe Diem

This was one of the ebooks I've gotten written by Ann Omasta. I almost forgot about it until I was pleasantly surprised that there's an audio version! I didn't hesitate to get a copy and started the book during my non-thinking moments, while doing muscle memory only jobs. I enjoyed it! I loved Baggy and Ruthie! Rozy is totally lucky to have them as family. I think without them, she wouldn't have realised that she dodged a bullet as soon as she did and she wouldn't have found the perfect man for her. Oh my gosh! The world needs more of Kai! He's such a gentleman and so down-to-earth. I think their story was so sweet. Although I agree that their romance was a shotgun one but I applaud them for knowing that their love was real. It's a nice, feel good read that brought me a lot of laughs and made me blush a lot.

wedding gpne wrong

this was a beautifully written and performed by Rene Rose, story about picking up the pieces after receiving a text message calling off the wedding hours before.
there were many laughs, a few tears, but best of all a HEA. Kai seems like a beautiful soul and perfect for the jiltee bride. Maggie and Baggy are quite the extroverts who leave you shaking your head or laughing out loud.
I absolutely loved this book!

Who doesn't want to get lei'd in Hawaii??

Roxy is the of woman to talk herself out of a good time by over thinking everything... well that is until her wedding day and she receives a text that no bride, or groom, ever wants to receive... her fiancee and best friend are in love so the wedding is off! So as Roxy tries to wrap her mind around the events, her beloved Grandmother, Baggy, makes her mind up for her and her sister Ruthy joins in... their all leaving and going on Roxy and her ex's honeymoon.... and this is where the fun really begins... and the first person they meet when they arrive in Hawaii is their driver Kai... who Ruthy describes as a Jason Momoa lookalike.. Roxy is instantly drawn to Kai but in true Roxy form is very hesitant about pursuing... at first anyway... Kai is sweet and sexy but has a secret that shocks Roxy at first but endears her to him even more... I really enjoyed Roxy and Kai's story... they have their ups and downs, the odd misunderstanding along the way but their story is so sweet and heartwarming that you can't help but love these two characters.... and they both have crazy Grandmothers... but I have to say, Baggy was my absolute favourite... and it was so nice to see Roxy finally living in the moment and getting the happily ever after she so deserved... I can't wait for Ruthy's story in book two because she is such a loveable character too... so if you want something sweet and fun, then look no further because this is all of that with a little sas thrown in for good measure care of Baggy...

Great Read

Getting Lei’d (Escape #1) was another great read by Ann Omasta. Roxy was set to marry her fiancé, that is until she receives a text message that changes everything. She gets dragged on her Hawaiian honeymoon by her sister and grandmother. She meets Kai in Hawaii who is the resort’s chauffeur/bartender/ flame-thrower etc. I loved reading how the sparks flew for Roxy and Kai and loved their story. Ann Omasta did a great job of writing and narrating the characters so that you fall in love with them and their story.

A sweet, low heat romance..................

Getting Lei'd is a sweet, slow burn romance that I would rate as low heat in the sex department but high heat in the love department. After discovering her fiance has run away with her best friend on the day of her wedding, Roxy Rose thinks her life can't get much worse. However, her self-centered sister and incredibly eccentric grandmother decide to kidnap her for a Hawaiian honeymoon sans the groom. Immediately upon arriving at the beach resort, she meets Kai in his capacity as chauffeur, bartender, tour guide and anything else his job at the resort requires. They begin a flirtation that Roxy wants to explore, but Kai is a man of many secrets, one of which continually stomps on her already fragile heart.

Although there is more talking about sex than having sex in this book, I could still feel the love and passion flowing between the characters in this book, and the story is every bit a romance for it's lack of detailed sex scenes. Roxy has always been responsible and mature while her sister and grandmother flit through life with nary a care, and she is tired of being that good girl. Throughout this story, Roxy is continually struggling with both her picture of her life and her future as well as a cold and hot Kai. Luckily, the author throws in plenty of comic relief in the antics of Roxy's delightfully quirky grandmother and her version of a Hawaiian hunk. Roxy grows so much in this book during her journey of self discovery, and I can't think of a better choice for her happily ever after than the sweet and lovable Kai.

I normally shy away from books narrated by the author because good narration requires great skill and finesse. I am glad that I didn't let that stop me in this case. In addition to her terrific writing, Omasta does a great job with the narration. If I hadn't known otherwise, I would have thought she was a voice actor. Her performance was flawless, and her timing and delivery were very smooth.

I received a copy of this audiobook at my request in exchange for this honest review.

Recommended

An light hearted story with excellent characters to entertain. The love is crazy real. HI is the paradise everyone thinks and the natives are fascinating. The only thing that could h as ve made it better was if we knew Kai's thoughts as well.

It was refreshing to have a main character with such strong convictions.

The Jilted Bride Cheating Fiancée Best Thing That Could Happen

Foxy, staid reserved calm Roxy, gets a text while in her wedding dress ready to go down the aisle. The old troupe of the best friend since childhood has been cheating with him. But this is where the old troupe changes and were on a fun ride with Roxy and her wild grandma and sister to the honeymoon location in Hawaii.
I love the characters..you get to know them without being beat over the head with too much information..it slowly developed as well as your affection for them.
Roxy meets Kia who has am immediate attraction for her...and it doesn’t take long for Roxy to believe fate caused her to not get married and meet Kia.
Wonderful secondary characters...and I look forward to more very well written stories that keep me enthralled.
The narrator did a great job ...loved Baggy’s voice! Fun.
