Publisher's Summary

From Wall Street Journal and USA Today best-selling author Devney Perry comes a second-chance small-town romance.

Talia Eden loved Foster Madden for one year, two months, and eleven days. It was on day 438 that her love died. The day he chose to marry her best friend. The day she vowed never to think of Foster again.

Until years later, when he has the audacity to show up in her small hometown of Quincy, begging for her help.

The ink on his divorce papers is barely dry, yet he comes armed with apologies and promises. She knows it’s all a ploy. Foster is the king of games and secrets. But he’s got delusions the size of Montana if he thinks she’ll help him train for a world championship fight.

Except Talia has forgotten exactly what made Foster famous. The man has dedicated his life to victory. He’s steadfast. He’s determined. And he won’t stop fighting until he’s won her heart.

Fell a bit flat for me

Let me preface by saying I am a HUGE Devney fan. I will read anything she writes and I am obsessed with the Edens series. This book, however just didn’t do it for me. I wanted to love it, but it didn’t work out that way. This book took a sharp turn away from that “small town feel” that I loved so much. Two of the characters really weren’t great people, and there was no real redemption for them. The performance, however was great so I’ve gotta give that a 5. I’m sorry, Devney, I really am! I will still continue to read anything and everything she writes!

Awesome narrators!

This book has a lot more going on than what’s on the surface and I am all for it! What seems like a second chance, small town romance turns into a much bigger story with unexpected twists. This book can be enjoyed as a stand-alone but I would definitely recommend the series.

Wonderful Second Chance

Foster came to get a second chance with Talia. I like how the Eden family sticks up for each other and love each other unconditionally no matter what. Devney Perry writes such wonderful books. I can't wait for the next one. Connor Crais and Cindy Kay did a great job narrating.

Love

I think this is my favorite Eden book so far!!! I love second chance books but was really worried especially in the beginning when I realized Foster had left Talia to marry her roommate and they were married almost 7 years! Without giving anything away, Foster comes to Montana determined to win his Tally back. Considering it was her trust he needed to win back and not her heart, he had A LOT of work to do! Devney did an amazing job with this book!

I wanted it to be better

I am a huge fan of Devney Perry where I do not hesitate when it comes to purchasing her books, but with that said I am on the fence about this one. The actual story line is much better than the delivery of it. Foster had a much better story that Talia who came across as whiney and insecure to me, I get why she was that way but the constant review of her thoughts was annoying, way too much overthinking out loud. Of the series this one is my least favorite. I wanted to like it way more than I did. I do feel that Jasper and Emila have a story coming.

Loved the storyline

Loved the storyline, and the way this was put together.
BUT, wrong female narrator.
I know this narrator was used in another book written by this Author and I didn’t mind her as much.
This time it just made my teeth grind whenever she started speaking, completely wrong for the character.

Normally I would listen to Devney Perry’s books a few times, but I will struggle to listen to this one again.

Disappointed 😢

AN ENJOYABLE LOVERS SECOND-CHANCE

As Talia and Foster went ding ding round for round in this enjoyable second-chance love story, you slowly hear the devastating pain both characters have felt since their seven year separation. You slowly understand and sympathize with Foster for the reasons behind his heartbreaking, but what he thought necessary, decisins all those years ago. And you slowly hope this loving couple will get their beautiful happy ever after in the end.. after the angst, tears, truths, forgiveness, crossroad challenges and love that endured everything.

Worth a credit? Yes, a very enjoyable second trip to small town Quincy where family ties are strong and where there’s a dedicated Doctor and an ex World MMA Champ living their perfect life. After weathering the hurricane of emotions and winning the biggest fight of both their lives in this very enjoyable, heartwarming, well-narrated dual POV tale.
