kinda disappointed

don't get me wrong the writing and narration was top notch. both of them are masters of their craft. my issue is how weak thorn is. it's even brought up in the story like 10 times when thorn is talking to himself. "I'm so weak, I have to get stronger". also it's total bull that thorn doesn't get stronger after killing enemies, he only gets stronger by blacksmithing. It just gets under your skin because the mc is interesting and very likable but he can't cross the street without getting his ass kicked. overall I honestly did not like this story but I will give the second book a chance just in case the author decides to do away with the mountain of plot armor and miracles and actually give the mc power of his own but if this trend continues I will be dropping this series

Actually really good.

I was starting to get bored with Thorn being so overpowered and I felt like a lot of story was being overlooked in the runes. it's good to see that the story has shifted in a good direction. Will continue series.

ok I loved this so much, it was great, and it left me wanting more. I'm anxiously waiting for the second book now.
