It's more progression fantasy.

No game lit in it at all. Seems a bit slow at times. I believe it's a great start to a new series. it's got some great fantasy. The MC is a bit crotchety for a young man but I like it. Makes him have a world view of where he came from.

Good but not Litrpg

Would have been 5 stars if it was really a litrpg or didn't make the claim it was.

great read with interesting progression system

I love the MC and the rest of the characters. interesting dialogue that didn't focus on descriptions the entire time!

Good story, lacks technique

There is little variety in the writing. person A said, person B said, person A said... no variety, but a good story with fun characters.

The voice actor occasionally drops cadence and often changes voices/acents/inflections for the same character.

Overall, it is an enjoyable story. worth the read :)

Great listen!

I will start off by saying for those that it want a book with all the game mechanics this is not for you.. But if you truly enjoy an imaginative story good character development and an easy good listen this is the book for you. I am eagerly awaiting the follow up to this wonderful story.

Fantastic

I loved this book and cannot wait for the next.
I noticed in a few other reviews people were complaining about Hump being cowardly which seems like a poor observation based on his actions throught the book. 10/10 very brave boy.
The writing does a great job pulling together a well balanced serious and yet almost goofy(?) kinda vibe. At times it kind of strikes me as Terry Pratchet or Yahtze Croshaw of Its own genre. Its fantastic and charming in a way I dont see all that often. Im for sure keeping an eye on this one.

Surprisingly Good

This was a surprisingly good book. The first 15 min was a bit iffie but it got good fast after that. The main character didn't do any obviously stupid things that would make you question their mental state. Not really any stats but that's not a reason to rate a good book with one star. It's a plus in my option.

entertaining

Not the deepest thought provoking book I have listened to. But exceptionally entertaining. Will be looking to purchase the next in series right away.

It's worth a listen, but don't expect litrpg

Not litrpg (no system, no stats), but a nice story overall. Feels somewhat as if slightly based on DnD rules though. A little bit too many of the "the hero was fully spent, but by the sheer effort of will he found more power for the final and deciding spell" moments.
