Story
Marcus grew up believing his father killed his mother—then blamed it on the boogeyman under the bed. Always leave the lights on, his father warned, or the boogeyman will get you. Marcus still heeds the superstition, especially when he invites his new girlfriend over. Is Marcus haunted by a creature or has he just inherited his father’s murderous delusions? September. A beautiful New York editor retreats to a lonely cabin on a hill in the quiet Maine beach town of Dead River - off season - awaiting her sister and friends. Story
Suburbia. Shady, tree-lined streets; well-tended lawns; and cozy homes. A nice, quiet place to grow up. Unless you are teenage Meg or her crippled sister, Susan. On a dead-end street, in the dark, damp basement of the Chandler house, Meg and Susan are left captive to the savage whims and rages of a distant aunt who is rapidly descending into madness. It is a madness that infects all three of her sons and finally the entire neighborhood. Only one troubled boy stands hesitantly between Meg and Susan and their cruel, torturous deaths.

Story
It was the summer of 1965. Ray, Tim, and Jennifer were just three teenage friends hanging out in the campgrounds, drinking a little. But Tim and Jennifer didn't know what their friend Ray had in mind. And if they'd known, they wouldn't have thought he was serious. Then they saw what he did to the two girls at the neighboring campsite - and knew he was dead serious...Ray figured he was in the clear. Tim and Jennifer thought the worst was behind them, that the horrors were all in the past. They were wrong. The worst was yet to come.

This newer edition of the King James Bible published in 1769 is usually preferred by most that read it over the older 1611 version. This 1769 edition is highly sought after due to being more reader/listener friendly than the 1611 since many typos were fixed.... We hope your new audio bible will go everywhere with you and be a blessing for years to come.

When the call came it seemed like the answer to my prayers. My career as a voice actor had been over for months and me and my little girl Scarlet were living back at my mum’s place. I felt like a failure professionally—and with Scarlet having problems at school, as a parent as well. So, when I was asked to narrate a new book by disappeared novelist Philippa Roberts I jumped at the chance, even if it meant leaving Scarlet with my ex, Hugo, for a few weeks. Hugo, with his perfect new home and his perfect new girlfriend Saskia. But this isn’t a dream come true. It’s a nightmare.

Story
The doorbell rings, just days after my beloved husband’s sudden death. I don’t recognise the woman on our doorstep, with her blonde highlights, a diamond bracelet identical to my own and a bouncing baby boy in her arms. As I show her inside, I notice her eyes grow wide as she takes in our spacious hallway, and the big squashy sofas that we all used to pile on. She glances at the silver-framed family photos and my little daughter hiding behind my skirts. She looks at me, her blue eyes serious. ‘I’m sorry’ she says. ‘I am your husband’s girlfriend. And this is his son.'

More Ketchum Please
I wouldn't bother to review this had there been anything else by Jack Ketchum on audible, but this is the best you're gonna get from one of the best authors. Ketchum has earned quite a cult following (thanks to backing by better known authors like Stephen King) and has had three of his books turned into movies ('The Lost', 'The Girl Next Door' and recently 'Red'). He's one of the best contemporary authors working in this genre, or any genre for that matter.
Until audible decides to crank out an audiobook of Ketchum's better novels (The Girl Next Door, Ladies Night or Off Season) this will have to do. The first story here, Forever, (which lasts until 25:55 in the 37:36 minute:second length of this audiobook) is very uncharacteristic of Ketchum. Its not horror or even a dark fic, its a love story, albeit a terribly well writen one, about a man losing his wife to a terminal disease. It feels authentic but its not the better of the two. The second, 'Father and Son' which is about an old man stuck in a room, losing his mind, is what most Ketchum fans will want to listen to. And despite it lacks the depth of 'Forever' it'll be the one you'll probably enjoy more for that very reason.
In closing both of these are well-written and you're not gonna get anything better for this price. I'd definitely recommend it, at least until they publish something else by Ketchum.

Irritating Music Killed it
I love Ketchum, but this production was awful. The music is so loud, that you can't hear Ketchum's words. The music is irritating and constant throughout. A friend and I was listening and we had to give up, cause we could not understand it. I hope to be able to hear these stories in another recording. This is my second Dark Voices production and this irritating music seems to be their MO.
