SCRATCH A SON AND YOU ALWAYS GET HIS DAD

I AM NOT HUNGRY
This is not scary, like most of Ketchum's writing. It is depressing. I like JK's writing, but this did not make me HUNGRY for more.

What was in the Box, What was in the Box?

I really enjoyed this story. It is quite haunting and extremely depressing. As a father and husband, I was yelling inside my head thinking he wasn't doing enough for his family. If you enjoy this story it is adapted in the Anthology XX. Jack Ketchum does a great job narrating the story and provided the emotion that was needed to really make this story hit you hard.

OK Story

I'm not sure why so many people are confused by what was in the box since the son tells his father exactly what was in the box. This story might be thought of as a lesson along the lines of Albert Camus's philosophy and the key to understanding it is to contrast the fathers ravenous hunger at the end with his children's lack of hunger throughout.

I don't know what to think of it

This is a story that I feel will get better with time the longer I think about it and the message.

It is worth the credit..

I bought this expecting a full sized book. I didn't look at the audio length when I got it. I found it while searching for splatterpunk. it is not splatterpunk.
The Box is well written, to the point, and an excellent story. It was 21 minutes long and worth every penny and every minute.
Get this short story. It is worth it.

The Box

Absolutely fantastic. This was the perfect short story IMO. It was quietly horrific and it slowly began to terrify as it unfolded. Not for any reason other than the sheer helplessness coupled with a lack of flair. It was just there. Like an immutable truth. I never want to find out and yet can't help but need to know what is in the box.

Powerful

A brilliant short story told in a fabulously understated style. The narrator really knew where to put the punch.
