Easy to follow, functional resource!

This was the perfect audiobook for my recently retired parents. Each exercise is short, and easy to follow so they can be performed while traveling, or in basically any scenario they have a small window of time to practice. Each exercise focuses on core muscle groups, and fitness capacities to maintain optimum physical condition, especially in areas that seniors are more likely to be deficient in.

The narrator is easy to understand, and the exercises are organized in a way that are easy to follow and get the most out of in a given session. Would absolutely recommend!

Excellent information for staying health as we age

I've been exercising my entire life, but it was usually a means to an end, such as staying trim and/or losing weight. But now that I'm in my 50s, it's critical to continue exercising so I can stay strong and healthy well into my senior years. My mom, who is 77, has always set a good example for me. She walks almost daily and takes fitness classes in her retirement community. Some of her friends have all sorts of physical ailments now, from falls or injuries sustained doing "normal" things. Because my mom stays fit, I don't worry about her falling, or breaking bones if she does. And if that happens, I know she's in strong physical form and will be able to recover faster than other women her age. I intend to follow in her footsteps. After all, like the author says, "the best form of exercise is the one you continue to do!" While I don't always feel like it, I will incorporate more of these practical techniques and tips for maintaining my physical health. The exercises outlined in this book are short and simple, but oh so important!! And I love that they can be done pretty much anytime, anywhere!

An essential guide for seniors new to exercise

The opening chapters of this book paint a clear picture of the importance of strength training in seniors, not just for weight management l, but to thrive and enjoy life in our golden years. Don’t miss the accompanying PDF, a great reference for all of the exercises described. It’s very helpful that every exercise described also includes the “real-life” activity that the exercise will make easier.

Comprehensive senior workouts!

My parents are seniors and stay active by walking and sometimes playing tennis. However, I wanted them to push themselves a bit harder. Luckily, Jackie Jacobs offers an inspiring, brilliantly-narrated guide to a happy, healthy life. They have been partaking in enjoyable exercise routines that are changing their physiques and mindset in leaps and bounds. 5/5

Great Guide

I got this book for my parents because I know how important it is to remain healthy, especially for seniors. My parents have said they enjoyed completing the workouts - the workouts weren't too demanding and helped ease joint pain. I am thankful this guide has helped my parents stay in a healthy routine, this guide also covers lots of advice on how to maintain good health. The exercises are easy to follow and I recommend this guide.

Thankful for this

While I don't consider myself to be a senior by any means, my bones obviously disagree as I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my early 40s. This condition caused me to require a hip replacement. While I was relatively fit and at a healthy weight after the surgery, I had a complication or 2 which required several revisions. This audiobook was perfect for me as I knew I wanted to get back to exercising but I didn't (& couldn't) do anything aggressive or jarring. Glad I found it my confidence is back and my body is stronger! Well done Jackie Jacobs!

Great workouts

My mum who has now retired at the age of 65 wanted some audible books to listen to that would help her workout while at home. She found this audible ticked all the boxes and motivated her to finish the set workouts, learn more about the importance of working out (at any age) and as a result she has found herself to be stronger, more balanced with her walking and more confident in her day to day as a result. A must listen.

A must listen!!!! Highly recommend!

This audiobook is an excellent collection of strength training advice and strategies for seniors to regain their strength, energy, and balance as they get older. It provides practical guidance on how to stay active, independent, and healthy well into their later years. Additionally, it contains information on the different types of strength training exercises, tools, and techniques to look after one's health as well as the changes the body goes through, from bone density to energy levels as one ages. The author was incredibly knowledgeable and took us through the science of the changing body in a way that was comprehensive but easy to understand. I love this book for its step-by-step guidance and easy-to-follow approach. It is a great resource for all of us as we age to reclaim our strength and independence. Highly recommend!

Informative

Fitness Freedom for Seniors: I was so excited to listen to this book because I have an older parent. It is an excellent guide specific for older adults as well as everyone else. Who want to improve their balance, and overall wellness through strength training, diet, and a positive mindset. This book is great for both beginners and experienced individuals looking for new workout ideas. What also makes this book stand out well is its emphasis on creating a personal workout plan. This book provides examples of different plans, styles, and preferences. This book is well-written! I recommend everyone to listen to this book.
