Publisher's Summary

Sylvester Logan James' feud with the Beast has wracked his body and bedeviled his soul, but after 25 years it has failed to satisfy his need for vengeance.

When a werewolf delivers a pair of severed heads, Sylvester Logan James finds himself embroiled in an ancient grudge between the First Beast Prince and the seven Wolves who tried to overthrow him. Baited by a trail of dead werewolves and tracking a particularly cunning Wolf with its own agenda, Sylvester journeys across the world - from Belize to Botswana, Morocco to Malta, and Cyprus into the Himalayas on the most important hunt of his life, one that will lead him into the very lair of the Beast and to the werewolf who was once his mother. Here is one last unflinching entry in the Autobiography of a Werewolf Hunter - a final measure of redemptive violence where every victory is dearly purchased and honor is poisoned by shame. Don't turn away.

Disappointed

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The ending! I don't know how the publishers failed to notice that the ending was absolutely pathetic! A very disappointing end to what was going to be a brilliant series of books. In fact, the final encounter with the main wolf in the second book wasn't great either.

Would you be willing to try another book from Brian P. Easton? Why or why not?

Yes, though I hope poor endings aren't a symptom of all his stories.

What three words best describe Basil Sands’s performance?

Engaging, Clear, Fantastic

Did The Lineage inspire you to do anything?

No.

Any additional comments?

After reading the first two books in the series I was really looking forward to a great ending. Instead, what I got was pathetic. The character of the "Kin Slayer" (i.e. the ultimate wolf) was built up throughout the book with Sylvester wondering pointlessly (in my opinion) around the world. However, when he finally encounters this most dominant of wolves, the whole story just dries up and ends in a whimper. Very, very, very disappointing.

As ruthless as ever

A good 3rd book that completes a lot of the story yet leaves enough loose ends for a follow up.

The lineage. Much Better than the 2nd book!!!

This book is on par with the first book of the series. Story was good and a good way to finish up. Not as much action as the others but I think that made this all the better for it. Well worth the read/listen if you invested in the first two books.

a good end to a dark and twisted story!

the lineage is the 3rd book in the 'autobiography of a werewolf hunter' series.
it serves as a satisfying end to a very dark (possibly the darkest I've listened to!) story. creatong a full circle to the story that started with the first book (autobiography of a werewolf hunter).
the narrator is consistently good throughout, using different voices and accents for the different characters.
all in all the series as a while is well worth a listen, I couldn't put it down so to speak!
