What would you do if you felt like you were dying and the only thing that could save you was the very thing that was killing you?
Persia Chandler doesn't know the meaning of the world struggle. After the arrest of her notorious father, she is whisked away from Harlem, the only place she has ever called home, to be raised in an affluent neighborhood in Long Island City. Her mother and stepfather shower her with the best that life has to offer. During her senior year in high school, she convinces her parents to let her transfer from Catholic school to attend public school. That is the start of her problems - but it's hardly the end. In her new school, Persia is reunited with the friends she was forced to move away from and starts to drift further and further from the life her mother and stepfather have built for her. To the sheltered Persia, the Harlem underworld is like one big adventure. Things promise to get even more interesting when she starts dating a dealer named Chucky. He introduces her to his world of sex, money, and drugs, dragging Persia along with him on a long and bitter ride into the bowels of addiction.

A a young woman many men wanted me i was the most beautiful young lady in Jacksonville. Men did all types of things trying to get me into their beds and unlike Pershia i turned them all down. one of them tried to get me to do drugs he offered me an 8 ball of cocaine i looked at him saying a loudly as i could bitch you're a dead man I'm telling my brother what you tried to get me to do. This migro wss so scared he pulled out 20 thousand dollars to keep me from telling my brother what he did. And yes i took the money avid i still told. My brother fucked him up to the point he wasn't recognizable to his mother. now when he sees me he's still apologizing this has been going on since 1986 it's now 2017. His name is Reggie Baker ole soft ass bitch. ok now on to book 2.. I'll Wait....
But why it end like that it was getting good, but I love this book
Where does The Fix rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It was one of the best due to the narrator's abilities to hold your interest.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
It would give Persia more depth in character; she seems very naive.
Have you listened to any of Patricia Floyd’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Her performance is extraordinary; keeps you interested in the book
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
the attitude of persia which was very hard to understand.
As always Kwan delivers a great story. I'm so sick of Chucky. The only complaint is the narrator I love Cary Hite doing Kwan books. But other than that this is a must read. I was glad True made an appearance I wonder where Karyn at? I'm bout to start pt 2
I can't wait to listen to part 2. Kwan is becoming one of my favorite authors.
It started off a little slow, but soon, I couldn't stop listening! A must read!
I can't wait to begin the next book!!! Why, Persia? Why? That's all I can say! K'wan, you did your thing on that one!!
I loved these characters. Chucky needs to get his! I'm ready to listen to The Fix 2
I've read better stories by this author. I love this author. But the story didn't build up the characters as his other books have.
