Publisher's summary

After her father loses the family fortune in an insider-trading scheme, single mom Parker Welles is faced with some hard decisions. First order of business: go to Gideon's Cove, Maine, to sell the only thing she now owns-a decrepit house in need of some serious flipping. When her father's wingman, James Cahill, asks to go with her, she's not thrilled . . . even if he is fairly gorgeous and knows his way around a toolbox.

Having to fend for herself financially for the first time in her life, Parker signs on as a florist's assistant and starts to find out who she really is. Maybe James isn't the glib lawyer she always thought he was. And maybe the house isn't the only thing that needs a little TLC.

Kept me listening

I enjoy Kirsten’s stories. This one was no exception. Loved the book characters and their remarks.

Predictable

I usually love this author and I loved the earlier book. But this one was so predictable that I almost stopped listening. The narrator was too dramatic and nasal and difficult to listen to.

This is a lovely, passionate, interesting story

I really enjoyed this story. It wasn't rushed and didn't seem slow to me. It has that lovely build of passion instead of immediate gratification. I enjoyed Catch of the Day also....this seemed a little more indepth story to me. All the characters were interesting.
Narration is personal, and this is not a narrator I love to listen to but it is tollerable.

Sweet hearted...wonderfully lost in love

Would you listen to Somebody to Love again? Why?

Yes, it was a sweet and romantic book.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Parker and James. I enjoyed how difficult it was for them to come together but once they did it was a wibderul relationship.

Which character – as performed by Justine Eyre – was your favorite?

Viv. I thought Justine did a great job with the voices, even though many of the men all sounded similar.

If you could take any character from Somebody to Love out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Parker, he sounds like the types of friends have and would want to surround myself with money or no money.

The perfect ending to the series

I absolutely loved how Parker found her own identity in the story. I loved seeing Gideons point again and all of the inhabitants. What a great love story.

Would love to hang out in Gideon’s Cove

So I listened to the first 2 books in this series because I love both the author and Xe Sands, the narrator of those books. I had not heard Justine Eyre’s work previously but I also now love her! Her range for this book was engaging! The story was wonderful- light and relaxing as well as entertaining enough for doing some driving while I listened to the last couple hours. I loved catching up with the characters from the first 2 books. Basically, just a great 3-pack of stories. Thanks!

I live the way the author connects the characters from previous books to the current story. Love that!

I liked the story but thought she could have refrained from calling him Thing 1 for a good portion of the book. It seemed so rude. Other than that, good book

Feel good

Storyline as expected, I enjoyed it despite its predictability. The narrator on this book was horrible though. All the men’s voices sounded like pretentious old men. It conflicted with the characters.

Favorite

I really enjoy Kristan Higgins books! This might be my favorite so far! I love how she returned to a former town and wove the characters from two books together so beautifully!! Enjoy!!
