Publisher's Summary

Gay werewolves in Victorian London? Why yes, yes there are.

Biffy, newly minted Alpha of the London Pack, is not having a good Christmas. His Beta abandoned him, his werewolves object to his curtain choices, and someone keeps leaving babies on his doorstep.

Professor Randolph Lyall returns home to London after 20 years abroad, afraid of what he might find. With his pack in chaos and his Alpha in crisis, it will take all his Beta efficiency to set everything to rights. Perhaps, in the process, he may even determine how to mend his own heart.

New York Times best-selling author Gail Carriger presents a charming love story set in her popular steampunk Parasolverse. Featuring the long-awaited reunion between everyone's favorite quietly capable Beta and the werewolf Alpha dandy who let him slip away.

This sweet romance is full of unexpected babysitting, holiday decorations, and no small amount of pining. Look for surprise appearances from popular side characters and the occasional strategic application of italics.

The Supernatural Society novellas stand alone and may be read in any order. But if you're a stickler, this story chronologically follows Imprudence, and ties specifically to events in Timeless.

Delicate Sensibilities?

Contains men who love other men and have waited decades to do so.

Babies Ever After starting early?

A wonderful continuation for Biffy, Llyle, and the whole pack. It's traditional to give a couple Babies Ever After, but this time fate seems to be jumping the gun by handing the couple babies before they're even back together!

The premise of both lovers assuming the other has moved on and doesn't care as deeply, never simply *asking* each other how they actually feel, is a bit over-used, but it's well-executed and adorable to watch. The rest of the pack is fleshed out a bit more, although the story is too short to really do them justice so I hope we'll be seeing more of them. Fleshing out some new clavigers would be nice, too, now that Biffy has proven himself.

The story has a feel of "happily ever after," yet I'm eager to see what comes next, even if we only see the pack peripherally in others' stories. Will Robin be a main character in the next generation? ;-)

Good addition to the Series.

I totally and completely LOVED this story. while it was not as long as I wished the story was entertaining and I loved getting to see how Biffy was doing as Alpha.

Looking forward to more.

So happy for biffy and lyle

I am so happy the biffy and lyle finally got to be together. I would love to see this house revisited in future books, maybe with Robin and Grace all grown up, talking about what it's like for mortals to grow up around supernaturals. Thank you Gail!!

This one will hold you over

I love Gail Carriger. This little book is a nice visit with characters I love. It isn’t great and if you haven’t read Carriger before, don’t start with this one. It’s charm really lies in characters I already know. As far as the story goes, it’s a bit boring. Her other books have such action to them. Not this one. Little more like a slice of life. The reader does a good job. My one complaint is any time a character is thinking rather than speaking, they do this super weird echo sound to indicate it’s a thought. People aren’t dumb. We read books without an echo to indicate thought all the time. I don’t need something so heavy handed, and the sound is super irritating. Other than that if you like Carriger you’ll probably like this.

Just loved it

I really enjoyed the book. I did not expect babies in the story and I’m happy for the main characters. Can’t wait for the next books.

Would love to read more of Biffy's pack.

I thoroughly enjoyed finally seeing these two find happiness. Now if only we could get the rest of the pack in hand!

Interesting, but not an overly compelling story.

There was a lot of internal monologue, and the story did not have much purpose outside the thoughts of a few characters.

Ties up a side storyline nicely

This novella addresses what happens to a couple of beloved minor characters from Gail’s primary Supernatural Society storylines in a short, but sweet escape. Peter Newman did a decent job of transporting us into the minds of this British pack.

A fun gossippy novella that scratched an itch

If you could sum up Romancing the Werewolf in three words, what would they be?

The return and touching update to two delightfully queer characters, in a fun little novella. The reader is quite amazing and his voice pleasant.

Names are pronounced so differently!

A shame the narrator didn't check how names and titles were pronounced in the many previous books. It was irritating and detracted from the story for me.

Such a good choice of reader again

Having already read and loved this novella it is always a worry that the reader of it's audio form will not match that voice you have in your head. However again Ms Carriger has done us proud, Peter Newman is an excellent choice providing clarity and so successfully giving voice to these characters and their emotional depth.
As ever Ms Carriger gives a story full of humour, clever wordplay and her trademark silliness but there is also a delightful sweetness and a real emotional get to this long awaited story of the reunion of two beloved characters.
