Publisher's Summary

Their lives were perfect....
Lady Hero Batten, the beautiful sister of the Duke of Wakefield, has everything a woman could want, including the perfect fiancé. True, the Marquis of Mandeville is a trifle dull and has no sense of humor, but that doesn't bother Hero... until she meets his notorious brother.

Until they met each other....
Griffin Remmington, Lord Reading, is far from perfect - and he likes it that way. How he spends his days is a mystery, but all of London knows he engages in the worst sorts of drunken revelry at night. Hero takes an instant dislike to him, and Griffin thinks that Hero, with her charities and faultless manners, is much too impeccable for society, let alone his brother. Yet their near-constant battle of wits soon sparks desire - desire that causes their carefully constructed worlds to come tumbling down. As Hero's wedding nears, and Griffin's enemies lay plans to end their dreams forever, can two imperfect people find perfect true love?

Pay another visit to Maiden Lane.

    "Another credit worthy listen!"

I have no idea what took me so long to get this book? I loved it! It was every bit as good as the first in the series. Elizabeth Hoyt/Ashford MacNab delivered yet another great historical romance with just the right amount of mystery, sex and a HEA ending.
If you liked the first book or enjoy this genre then I highly recommend this book. Just don't wait as long as I did to read it.

This was another credit worthy listen for me.

    "EXCELLENT"
What about Ashford MacNab’s performance did you like?

I thought she was great. She adds greatly to the pleasure of listening to the book.

    Any additional comments?

I know it was a book of fiction, but I was wondering what Hero was thinking to be casually hopping in and out of bed with her fiance' s brother. The consequences could be great.
As wirh "Wicked Intentions", it was very sexy. I liked that it touched on some of the secondary characters that were in "Wicked Intentions" and will be the main charaters in the next book of this series. It was a lovely love story.

    "bland narrator"

story line had potential but narrator had no flavour; Narrator while not the worst was just passable, she told the story in a bland manner. Had to make an effort to keep interest in order to finish the audio book.

    "Truly Unexpected"

Best in this series so far! Although Lady Hero can be a bit overly stubborn, Griffin is depicted as a true "man", speaking his mind while doing and taking what he wants. As you listen you will want to yell at Hero to "just tell him already", but given Griffin's way of persuasion you can see why she holds out. Of course there is another glimpse of the famous, "Ghosts of St. Giles", and a much welcomed surprise and Hoyt hints to his identity.

    "Like it!"

This series is my first experience with Elizabeth Hoyt, and I am really enjoying it. I suggest starting with the first book in this series (Wicked Intentions) just to get an idea of all the characters, otherwise you really don't get the full flavor. Really looking forward to book 3!

    "This is a great series!"

I thought the first book in this series, Wicked Intentions, was great! This book does not disappoint! It's, ah, very naughty, but I didn't think as erotic as Wicked Intentions, but still, whoa! I like the the reader. I think her voice is perfect for this genre, sort of soft and husky. I'm excited for the next book to come out in Nov. I will buy that the day it comes out! Totally worth the credit.

    "Good story"

Good story with interesting characters even if I didn't agree with their actions. I was annoyed by Hero (Lady Hero, our protagonist) basically cheating on her fiancé. I couldn't celebrate that. But her attempts to stay away from him and keep everything platonic were pretty fun.

The narration of the audiobook must have been okay because, one day after finishing it, I can't think of anything that was out of whack.

Now I want to follow Silence's story.

"Press through to fall in love with the characters"
    Any additional comments?

I liked this better than #1 because the characters became so sweetly intimate by the end, and the ending is great action. I really wasn't impressed with Griffon at first and It took time for me to fall in love with him and to begin to root for him and Hero to work out. Gradually you're pulled into a lovable set of supporting characters that make that bring a sense of camaraderie. I love the details Elizabeth Hoyt adds in her novels like the pets, odd names, & fantasy mini story.
I really don't like that Silence's tale invades the first book, now the 2nd book, shen she already gets an entire book to herself for #3. I've already read #3 I've skipped around & so i find it especially annoying. Perhaps #3 was Elizibeth Hoyts favorite she's been leading up to and so she's exciting and that's why Silence creeps in beforehand. My overall favorite is Thief of Shadows #4, then Duke of Pleasure #11, then Duke of Sin #10, and Charming Mickey's story #3 is also really good.

    "Loving this series!"

Notorious Pleasures by Elizabeth Hoyt (Audio Edition)
    Narrated by Ashford McNab
    Maiden Lane Series #2

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ I really liked Lady Hero when I met her in book one and I continued to like her throughout this book. She was giving, honest, and brave. I felt she was a great match for Griffin. He was the kinda guy that did what had to be done regardless of the consequences and I liked that about him. He was a good lead, both tender and protective when needed.

I quite enjoyed this story and I am really looking forward to the next book. These characters are growing on me a lot and I can't wait to see what happens. Ms. Hoyt's writing is very easy to enjoy!

The Narrator Ashford McNab did a wonderful job again.

"The duke's daughter and the gin runner"

Second in the Maiden Lane series, this one takes secondary character from the first and adds three more who are important to the tale and places the earlier players in secondary status. Except for a Makepiece sister whose story meanders in and out of this one. And we have come to note that there is a few paragraphs of a morality tale at the beginning of each chapter. We also learn more about gin distilling and the economic problems of the time than we thought we wanted to know. Well crafted.
Ashford McNab does well enough as narrator.
