Publisher's summary

Israel successfully launches a first strike on Iran, taking out all of their nuclear sites and six of their nuclear warheads. American president William Jackson threatens to support a U.N. Security Council resolution condemning the Jewish State for unprovoked and unwarranted acts of aggression. And the Twelfth Imam prepares to order a genocidal retaliation.

Meanwhile, CIA operative David Shirazi has infiltrated the Iranian regime and intercepted top secret intelligence indicating that two Iranian nuclear warheads survived the attack and have been moved to a secure and undisclosed location. In danger not only from the ongoing war between Israel and Iran but also from the increasingly hostile governments in multiple countries, Shirazi and his team are in a race against time to find the remaining nuclear warheads before the most cataclysmic event in the history of the Middle East comes to pass.

Engaging and well performed

Best of the series. It was so well read that I grew to know and like the characters. This also made it easy to follow. One of my all time favorites by audible.

Exciting, Fast paced story.

Where does Damascus Countdown rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

At or near the top. However I am still a novice to audiobooks.

What did you like best about this story?

The final scenes in Syria, both at the airbase and the race to get there on time.

What about Christopher Lane’s performance did you like?

He captured the emotions of the moment, especially during the hospital raid scenes, the action at the airbase in Syria, and the convoy from Iran to Syria.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I believe near the end when the Seals gave their all, the learned scholar and the "Mole" sacrificed themselves to prevent a nuclear event.

Any additional comments?

I wish I had read the first two books before reading this one.
