Publisher's Summary

Crazy Rich Asians is the outrageously funny debut novel about three super-rich, pedigreed Chinese families and the gossip, backbiting, and scheming that occurs when the heir to one of the most massive fortunes in Asia brings home his ABC (American-born Chinese) girlfriend to the wedding of the season.

When Rachel Chu agrees to spend the summer in Singapore with her boyfriend, Nicholas Young, she envisions a humble family home, long drives to explore the island and quality time with the man she might one day marry.

Fun, easy read

Have family in Singapore so this book was fun to listen to. The story line wasn’t life changing but if you want a book that’s easy to listen to and not crazy serious then this is the one.

This book didn't really move me. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great. The narration was good

Crazy story

This is an entertaining and interesting story. There are laughs, tears, anger and surprises. The story was very well read with the Asian inflections and expressions beautifully rendered. The ending is satisfying, but also left up in the air.

Loved this book

I really enjoyed this audiobook from the story to the excellent narration. The twist at the end keep me interested right up to the end.

This book blends facts, fiction, cultural nuances and human interactions and foibles beautifully to take the listener on a wonderful journey.

5 out of 5 from me.

A bit simple and gossipy, but engaging nonetheless

I listened to this on my trip to Singapore for a friend's wedding. Enjoyable story told by multiple characters but mostly a relatable American girl during her trip to Singapore with her boyfriend.

It's a simple love story, set against the hangups of the uber rich. These are sometimes superficial and a little irritating - about couture dresses and private planes - but sometimes enlightening. Some of the cultural and family factors were interesting to me. So was the diversity of attitudes that the wealthy characters have towards their wealth.

Very well read and with enough interest and suspense in the story, so I'd recommend it as an easy listening holiday novel.

Surprising

This story is fantastic. I got the kindle and audible versions together. I did not expect to enjoy this book as much as I did.

An enjoyable and real insight into Singapore.

Many realistic scenes set in familiar places in Singapore. A fun romp with the rich in Asia. Many great turns of phrase to take you right there. Highly enjoyable.
