Publisher's Summary

A Christmas wedding in Colorado? A two-week celebration with family and friends? Who does that?

Photojournalist Reagan Bryant has just returned from six-month stint in Afghanistan. Haunted by the tragedy that ended her last assignment, she's searching for some peace - something to end the guilt and chase the trauma away. Two weeks at the resort hotel owned by her future sister-in-law's father seems like the perfect escape.

Shelby Sutton doesn't trust women. They always seem more interested in her father's money than in her. But at her sister's request, she vows to make friends with Reagan, a woman whose sad and haunted eyes are nearly impossible to ignore.

"Who say only fools fall in love? Two smart sexy woman also do as fools and future brides do!"

The setting her sister's wedding in Colorado, at a resort hotel at the bottom of Rocking Mts. National park. A Christmas wedding that the bride's mother has turned into a all expense paid two week event instead of the simple Christmas family only one evening event they had planned. The mother is into every detail. Which leads to much comedy when she is up against the groom's sister, who does not wear dresses not even bridesmaid ones, she is willing to wear a tuxedo though. Anyway since the groom's sister and the bride's sister are also both gay sparks fly, most from the bride's mother. Still there is no stopping true love, not ever the scars of the past.

I absolutely loved this. It's very rare to have butch woman in books. Not to mention Reagans mom reminds me of how my mother was with me. Loved this one.

"You will like this book Another Hill Hit."

This book was really cute, it had realistic family dynamics , great interaction between characters, it was a bit frustrating to have the two main characters wait so long before communication finally happened. I would say it's definitely a book to read.

    "Another Good One"

Another good love story from this author; sure there are certain aspects of this story that are de riguer, but the writing and the characters make up for that. Reagan is recovering from the tragic death of a friend and three colleagues in Afghanistan. Shelby is an hotel executive at the resort where her sister and Reagan's brother are throwing a wedding that lasts two weeks. The mother of the bride is a social climbing monster-in-law who finds it impossible to accept that her older daughter is gay and spends the second week of the wedding throwing the best man at her. Perhaps my family is different than most but Shelby and Stephanie's overbearing mother would have met with a lot more resistance than she did.
It was a nice change that the main characters in the book weren't a couple of the demi virgins that romance novelists both straight and gay seem to cling to. I also find it a positive that there was no overly convoluted breakup scene somewhere between 80 and 90% of the way through the book. You know the one, the misunderstanding/miscommunication breakup where no one speaks about their real feelings and a short split occurs that in the end only forces the couple to realize that they are destined to be together.
The ending feels a little bit abrupt but overall this book is easily a 4 star selection.

"Great romance with a twist, a fun holiday escape!"

The book reads great. I always read the story prior to the audible version. The audio narrator for this story was not bad. Two voices would have been better but the narrator did a real good job. The voices pretty well match the image I had of the written story. Nice job Gerri Hill another great romantic read, can't wait for the next book for me to escape the real world grind.

    "Needs editing"

Every other sentence ended with he/she said - boring way to write. Felt as if the author just had a word count to meet.

"Love the book...then you should love the audio"

I loved the story when I first read it and when the audio became available I figured why the hell not. I liked the narrator (who did the Providence Series by Radclyffe) and we all know narrators can definitely break an audio. I highly recommend and loved it.

    "Best ever! 😍"

As usual.. another great book of one of the best authors ever, performed by the best ever Nicole.
I can't say enough about this book.. a real new & wonderfully written story ever.

Gerry is my favorite author in this genre, and I'm glad that she chooses Nicole Zanzarella to perform her books. Seriously, I believe that Nicole's performance makes me live the story as if I was watching a movie or being fully immersed in the story.

    Story
"A two week wedding, at Christmas!"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would... Most people who have a mother or mother in law can relate to this storyline.

What other book might you compare Chasing a Brighter Blue to and why?

I wouldn't compare this book to any other ... mostly because it covers so many different communities and working thru a horrible experience.

Which character – as performed by Nicol Zanzarella – was your favorite?

    Shelby

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I would love to see this book in film format, but I'm not sure what tag line I'd use
