Jennifer Kincaid, on her way to a writer's workshop in the Colorado mountain town of Lake City, gets lost and is stranded by an avalanche.

Catherine Ryan-Barrett, running from the fame and fortune of her family name, wants nothing more to spend the winter alone and sequestered in her high mountain cabin. She is not prepared for a party crasher.

After spending two months together, they form an unlikely friendship that deepens even further. But after the spring thaw, Jen returns to her life in Santa Fe - and to the man who wants to marry her. All she knows of the woman who rescued her is her name...Ryan.

Contains mature themes.

When I started this short story I wasn’t expecting much but I was very mistaken. This is one of my favorite Gerry HILL romances.

I was totally involved. I loved the setting of a single isolated cabin totally confined by snow and ice. The two main characters are described so well you can picture the scenes easily in your mind.

The sexual tension is very well described and very hot without being ‘too much information’.

I can’t imagine anyone giving this great story a less than perfect review.

Jennifer Is on her way to a writer’s retreat when she gets caught in a blizzard. Ryan is a recluse living in her remote cabin with her two huskies. When Ryan rescues Jen they spend two months trapped by the snow. As feelings grow they must confront their pasts before they can go forward. A marvelous performance.

Book was very well written! s usual the only thing I didn’t like was that it ended! I could have listened forever! Abby Craden, as usual, is the best!

I first listened to this book a few years back. It’s been re-recorded with a new narrator. Pretty quickly I realized I remembered the book, but I decided to stick around to hear what perennial favorite Abby Craden did with the text. I’m not sure which version I like better. Doesn’t matter for you reading this, since this recording is the only one available now.

The story is a good one. Low angst, slow burn, and a bit of spice. Even though I failed to recognize it by its title, the story is one I remembered long past the first listen. When so many books are listened to and nearly instantly forgotten, that seems significant. Gerri Hill’s writing got better after she published this, so if you like this one at all, have a listen/read of some of the newer stuff.

A fairly light listen with characters that read true

great love story

Ryan is a recluse that has lost faith in humanity and prefers to stay away from the public. Jen is a naive and sheltered sweetheart. Ryan saves Jen from an avalanche and Jen is stuck at Ryan’s house for 2 months because of the weather. What could possibly happen? This is a sweet story and I wish it was a bit longer, but I enjoyed.

Love wins!

This feels like a story I've heard before. It's story beats and setting are familiar, but I'm sure it's probably a coincidence.

It's good, and short. It was nice having something bite sized for a change of pace. Plus it's by an author I already know I like and a narrator I'm very familiar with. It was fairly basic overall, but worth the time.

Short and to the point.
