Publisher's summary

This is audiobook #6 in the Casca Series.

The Brotherhood of the Lamb concluded its sacred meeting and the Brothers dispersed to their separate nations and cities with but one identical message: "Casca lives, and is in Persia..." The Eternal Mercenary enters the gates of the Persian Empire to become commander of Shapur II's royal forces. One man will seek his downfall at all costs - Rasheed, advisor to the King and secret member of The Brotherhood. When he watches Casca's burning flesh turn to ash, he knows not even the seemingly immortal Roman can survive the all-consuming hunger of the sacred fire...or can he?!

Very good story.

The sixth book of this series goes back into time. I only wish that this series of books were written in chronological order rather than skipping around however, I do enjoy that each time. We'll pick up where the last time. Ended like if he leaves the desert in one book then in the chronological book after it he will be coming from the desert however, the books are not written in time sequence but rather Jump Around and one will be in let's say 380 but the next one will be in 1945 but then we'll go back to 500 AD or something like that. Regardless, this story was very good, Is very rounded story had a very definitive beginning and a very complete ending. In fact, the very end ends up being a slight surprise and it is very pleasing. I enjoyed this book and I think that you will too.
