Story
Semele Cavnow appraises antiquities for an exclusive Manhattan auction house. When she discovers a manuscript written in the time of Cleopatra, she knows it will be the find of her career. Its author tells the story of a priceless tarot deck, now lost to history. As Semele delves further, she realizes the manuscript is more than it seems. Story
Haelewise has always lived under the shadow of her mother, Hedda—a woman who will do anything to keep her daughter protected. For with her strange black eyes and even stranger fainting spells, Haelewise is shunned by her village, and her only solace lies in the stories her mother tells of child-stealing witches, of princes in wolf-skins, of an ancient tower cloaked in mist, where women will find shelter if they are brave enough to seek it. Then, Hedda dies, and Haelewise is left unmoored.

Story
When a banished witch falls in love with the legendary trickster Loki, she risks the wrath of the gods in this moving, subversive debut novel that reimagines Norse mythology. Angrboda’s story begins where most witches' tales end: with a burning. A punishment from Odin for refusing to provide him with knowledge of the future, the fire leaves Angrboda injured and powerless, and she flees into the farthest reaches of a remote forest. There she is found by a man who reveals himself to be Loki, and her initial distrust of him transforms into a deep and abiding love.

Publisher's summary
Thirteenth-century Bohemia is a dangerous place for a girl, especially one as odd as Mouse, born with unnatural senses and an uncanny intellect. Some call her a witch. Others call her an angel. Even Mouse doesn't know who - or what - she is. But she means to find out.
When young King Ottakar shows up at the Abbey wounded by a traitor's arrow, Mouse breaks church law to save him and then agrees to accompany him back to Prague as his personal healer. Caught in the undertow of court politics at the castle, Ottakar and Mouse find themselves drawn to each other as they work to uncover the threat against him and to unravel the mystery of her past. But when Mouse's unusual gifts give rise to a violence and strength that surprise everyone - especially herself - she is forced to ask herself: Will she be prepared for the future that awaits her?
A heart-thumping, highly original tale in the vein of Elizabeth Kostova's The Historian, Bohemian Gospel heralds the arrival of a fresh new voice for historical fiction.

Story
When Lady Saren defies her father’s command to marry the vicious Lord Khasar, she is sealed in a tower with only her serving maid, Dashti, for company. In their cramped, dark space Dashti pours her thoughts into a daily journal while pitiless solitude engulfs them. At first the girl is optimistic: they have food aplenty, candles for light, and even a visit from Lady Saren’s true love, Khan Tegus - though he can only call to them from outside their walls. But their circumstances soon grow desperate.

While divisions in race, religion, and class still exist, advances in technology have redefined life itself. When Michael Moorcock began chronicling the adventures of the albino sorcerer Elric, last king of decadent Melniboné, and his sentient vampiric sword, Stormbringer, he set out to create a new kind of fantasy adventure, one that broke with tradition and reflected a more up-to-date sophistication of theme and style. The result was a bold and unique hero: a rock-and-roll antihero who would channel all the violent excesses of the '60s into one enduring archetype.

This book is very well written. The story flows well, and most of the typical clichés were avoided. I can’t wait to listen to the next one in the series.

A must read - when you have uninterrupted time.
This is a review of the series. Started book 1 April 16, finished book 3 April 23.
So good!!! Read this series! I have so much to say and no idea how to say it.
This book feels like those shows that suck you in for an entire weekend; Wheel of Time, Witcher I'm looking at you.
It is the classic story of good verses evil. The series contains a good deal of religious writing and imagery. Dana Chamblee Carpenter gives beautiful details of the religious items, buildings and locations. It was presented like religious art history and not religion class; I really appreciate that, I love religious art and architecture because of it's beauty. I even added a few new travel destinations.
The writing is superb, Carpenter does an amazing job of setting the scene. More than once I had to take deep breath and remind my self I wasn't actually in the often scary small space.
Though I did not cry; if you are prone to, you will. It's worth it (without spoilers) read it anyway, just avoid crowded areas. If you survived Game of Thrones you can handle this.

Incredible Story!
Where does Bohemian Gospel rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I have not enjoyed reading a book as much as Bohemian Gospel! I am so very happy it is on Audible now. The story is engaging, the history is engaging! I looked forward to the second book in the series and was not disappointed. Can't wait for the release on audible!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Mouse is my favorite, of course. Her story is incredible. She is heroic and a solid character.
Any additional comments?
I hope this story continues and continues! Thank you Audible!

Had me hooked right away!
Bohemian Gospel by Dana Chamber Carpenter and narrated by Justine Eyre is a fascinating and riveting story of love, magic, and the paranormal. The characters are so interesting! A girl called Mouse that has supernatural abilities during a time of witch hunts. A monk that cares for the orphan Mouse and hides her gifts. A young king that falls in love with Mouse. Crazy adventure and action with unique creatures and creepy scenes. The plot goes sideways and keeps the reader on their toes. The ending...blew me away!!! Did not see that coming at all! Wow, I need the next book now!
The narration was excellent! Perfect emotions, timing, and voices!!

Never again. Horrible ending.
I’ve never said this about a book. The last few chapters ruined the entire storyline.
