Publisher's Summary

Faith Madison has enjoyed the good life as the wife of a successful Manhattan investment banker and mother to two grown daughters. But every step of the way she has carried within her a secret she could divulge to no one.

The sudden death of her stepfather will touch off a journey of change and revelation. At the funeral, painful memories flood back - and an old friend reenters Faith's life. Brad Patterson was her brother Jack's best friend: a lanky boy who protected Faith when, as kids, they fancied themselves "The Three Musketeers." When Jack died years later, Faith and Brad came together in their shared grief, only to lose touch again.

Brad has reentered Faith's life as she is making a decision that plunges her marriage into crisis. Determined to fill a long-held desire for a career of her own, Faith applies to law school against her husband's wishes, igniting anger and recrimination. Faith's only solace is her newfound e-mail correspondence with Brad, who is trapped in an empty marriage of his own. As these two childhood friends rediscover each other, Faith and Brad will find the courage to make decisions they should have made years before, and Faith will take the most painful step of all - sharing a haunting secret and opening her heart for the first time in her life.

With unerring insight into the hearts of husbands and wives, lovers and families, Danielle Steel tells a moving story about the secrets that wound and the choices that heal.

Solid, enjoyable and very Danielle Steele

The characters are very believeable and Ms Steele makes you care about them as always. It is almost like taking a page out of reality as you travel with them through their struggles and joys. Good read!

Loved IT!!

Always have enjoyed her books and look forward to listening to many more. It took a little getting use to the narrator. This was my first book I listened to. Loved It!!

Weak

I agree with many of the other reviews... it drags and repeats the same thing over and over. I am a big DS fan and am used to her repetitive way of writing but this has me wanting to scream "I GET IT!" I like to multitask when listening so I don't mind her usually repetitive style but this story is especially slow and excessively redundant, even for Steel. I agree with the reviewer who said this would be an hour long recording if you removed all the redundancy. I am more than halfway through and barely anything has happened. Don't waste your time or money on this one.

Come on Danielle, You can Do Better

All of Danielle's books tend to be pretty sappy but still entertaining and good for light listening. But Answered Prayers is just too sappy and very repeatitive. We are adults Danielle, you don't have to tell us the same thing over and over and over. Nothing new to the plot, very predictable. I'd pass on this one.

No excitement

This held my attention for the most part. Many sections were redundant. I felt as though the "bad guys" of the book were made to look overly dreadful to suit the plot.
