Publisher's Summary

#1 New York Times best-selling author Sherryl Woods returns listeners to the beloved Southern town of Trinity Harbor with a story of second chances and finding love in unexpected places

How could the sensible daughter of Trinity Harbor's self-proclaimed patriarch have taken in the boy caught hot-wiring her car? Whether the boy is a modern-day Huck Finn or not, Trinity Harbor is in an uproar. But for Daisy Spencer, guiding the orphaned 10-year-old is easy, an escape from her own tragic past. She can ignore the town's nay-saying. The only real obstacle is...that man.

That man is the boy's uncle, Walker Ames, a tough DC cop who sees his unexpected nephew as his last chance at redemption. Soon he's commuting to the charming fishbowl of a town, where everyone assumes he's seduced Daisy - their best Sunday-school teacher! But to Walker, Daisy is a disconcerting mix of charming innocence and smart-mouthed excitement in a town that's not as sleepy as it looks.

    Story
    "Lisping Narrator"
What would have made About That Man better?

This story was implausible. School bus drivers that gather to smoke cigarettes before the students get on the bus? A cop that pulls a 10 year old off the street to interrogate him with no parent or other adult present? The story felt dated and in strong need of better research by the author.

Would you be willing to try another one of Megan Tusing’s performances?

I will not listen to another book narrated by Megan Tusing. There is no shame in having a speech impediment, but I'm thinking there are plenty of narrators available who don't have one. And okay, the southern female voices were not so hard to listen to with the lisp, but when the tough DC cop lisps ... it's intolerable. Done with this series and definitely done with this narrator.

    "What was Ms Woods thinking?"

This was s great story that would have gotten 5 stars from me if it wasn't for the graphic sex. Here we are presented with this upstanding, moral " Sunday school teacher" who had no problem committing fornication, and was upset that the parents of her students considered her a poor example. I thought I would get all the audio books in the series, now I'm sure I won't.

    "this book is terrible."

the characters are cartoon characters and the story line could be food, but the author has pushed the romance too quickly and way too contrived. just awful

While recuperating from surgery for a week I enjoyed listening to this story. I lived the accents.
