I loved the way he seemed so strong and sexy and I cant actually see him

What other book might you compare Sweet Persuasion to and why?

The surrender of Persephone. They both have very dominate sexual encounters and they both have great love stories.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

not to much except that I would have like her voice of the main character to be more defined

This is for you if you love explicit, hot, erotic Dom/sub sex-based stories that arouse the senses.

Hero Damon agrees to fulfil heroine Serena’s fantasy of a short term master/slave relationship. A few negative reviews had me very worried about the sex-slave element before I plunged in to listen on Audible.

The story showcases erotic sex including Maya Banks-style-BDSM. Voiced through her characters, the author has a lot to say about BDSM characteristics such as titles (Dom/master/sir/sub/slave) and actions (obedience/punishment/exhibitionism/sharing partners). I like her opinions about the popularised versions of this lifestyle. She gives BDSM her own slant through her characters’ actions (particularly the hero's actions) and I love reading her brand of kink.

The sex-slave element is not what you think. The relationship felt completely loving and sweet to me, with the exception of one punishment scene (even though I thought the punishment – if there had to be one - fit the behaviour in the context of the story).

I felt comfortable with the dominant (master) and submissive (slave) roles in this novel and enjoyed listening to the book very much. The sex scenes were HOT. It was not what I feared. I’ve read the phrase “panty melting” many times, but never used it myself until now. It applies. Be warned.

This is book 2 in the SWEET SERIES but a stand-alone novel and completely different to book 1. Book 1, SWEET SURRENDER about another couple, was a romantic suspense story that carried with it a wonderful romance with the couple engaging in erotic intimate moments. This book 2 is all about the sex. Also, the heroine Serena’s interactions with her best friends are delightful and sounded very real.

The narrator, Caroline Wintour, performs all the voices and she is fantastic - she had me squirming in my seat. Wowza. I recommend this if you have an open mind about what people do in private.

It's better than the first book of the series.

I was unsure I wanted to continue this series after listening to the first book, glad I took the chance and continued on.

Yes, she does the whole series and is fabulous.

This is probably the next to my least favorite in the series (Sweet Addiction is my least favorite) because there wasn't an action story mixed in (hunting a stalker, killer, etc.) The others can 'stand alone' - this one and Sweet Addiction not so much.

I enjoyed the book, but did not find it one of my favorites. After KGI and The Colter's I am now getting around to reviewing the Sweet series..while I didn't understand Serena's needs, I accepted that she knew what she wanted/ needed. Domination is one thing, but sexual slavery is another. I couldn't reconcile that with what she got. I loved Damon in Bk 1 and was looking forward to getting a better understanding in his story, but unfortunately, that didn't happen. I loved how their relationship was coming together, but hate when both parties want more, but are afraid to tell each other. They're both seemingly strong, confident people, but asking for more in a relationship is not possible... seriously..Found that hard to believe. I agree with the other review that serena's response to the little girl's passing was a bit much. One, she didn't get that close to the girl or her parents and 2, I have to believe that the bulk of her clients are terminal or elderly, etc..this should not have affected her to the degree of selling her business and living in abject misery. A little overkill. My biggest irritation in the book was with the introduction of Connor and Nikki ( I think that was their names Serena's friend and one of the other security guys)..the friend was getting on my nerves and the back and forth she has with her friends was a bit irritating. It irritated me enough to skip her book next and go straight to book 4. I may get around to 3 at some point. All is all, this book was ok..not upset that its in my library.

You get lost in the characters!

What did you love best about Sweet Persuasion?

I love the whole series. They are full of wonderful characters, descriptive writing, and stimulating plots. Way to go Maya Banks!

Captivating!!!!

Ms. Banks weaves a wonderful story. While the detail is a bit raw for some, the characters snag you and won't let go!!! This is an excellent series - I wasn't going to continue but I keep going on to the next book because I can't wait to see what happens next. I will be sad when I get to that last book.

Yes I would it has a wonderful couple that wants something in each other but are to blind to see what's right in front of them.

The great detail in the fantasy and reality of the auction.

I have it is good. Body of work as I have listened to all the sweet books .

It does have moments that I did shed a tear or twoz and all the books I have a strong reaction to just most are more sexy/sensual.

Good Dom/sub story line.

After reading the first story I couldn't wait to read more about Damon! So glad I didn't have to wait to long to find out. He is sweet, attentive and powerful and he sounds like a magnificent Dom.
There were parts of the story where my comfort levels were breached but it made me realize this isn't really my thing. I enjoyed the first story because Grey wasn't looking for the full lifestyle as Damon is. Also Grey had a bit more masculine "grit" and "edge" and I think that is what drew me into him a bit more.

Great story but the "full lifestyle" is a little past my comfort level.
