Drew has finally got it all together. First, there is his pocket dimension, a quickly growing area based around his good buddy, Tree. Then there are his students, six random kids he...liberated. Finally, there is the dragon stalking him. Cultivating, sailing, staying ahead of trouble. That’s his plan as he moves into the creation of his solid Core. Seducing a dragon was a total accident. Nuking an Island? Let’s not focus on the details. They started it. What’s the best thing to do while getting his magical career and development back on track? Play pirate, of course!

Publisher's Summary
In the realm of Eon, strength is the rule of law.
In daylight, the realm is ruled by the adepts, a group of mighty cultivators that use their spirits to wield world-bending, mystic power. These adepts live in constant strife, fighting for control of relics that hold the divine powers of ancient gods.
In twilight, the realm belongs to the darkbeasts, nightmarish creatures born of a mysterious fog known as the veil.
These creatures are drawn to power, hoarding relics in their dungeons and slaying any adepts that dare venture too close.
Together, these opposing forces create a grim balance of power, one only survived by those with strength, cunning and a bit of wit.
But balance is not easily maintained....
Dark forces work from the shadows, putting events into motion that will drive the realm into chaos. Soon, portals begin to open, drawing warriors from other realms to test their mettle on Eon’s battlegrounds.
Many perish before reaching their true potential, falling victim to the realm’s many perils.
However, the cosmos is a vast sea of souls, and one police officer from earth may prove he has the fighting spirit needed to shake Eon to its very core....

Good but short
This first book laid the groundwork for the world and future books rather well. There were a few time that I thought his HUD explained something rather well but “the officer” didn’t capitalize on or chose to wait before acting. This didn’t happen often but in the few instances it did it seemed very contradictory to the character’s usual behavior.
While the story used “the officer” to refer to the MC often I found that I was getting used to the use before the end of the book. I wish they used his name but this isn’t a big problem.
In conclusion I would give this book somewhere around the 4.6 range, I will be getting the second book when ever it comes out.

Impressive Narration
I think it is an interesting world. Bits and pieces that seem really cool, although it's not really forming a cohesive whole for me.
I think our protagonist is written weakly. I would expect a cop to be a little more cautious, especially this one when his lack of it literally just got him killed and sent to this world. He seems determined to get himself finished for good. I could even accept him being a moron, because some people just are, except for the fights he is constantly getting into against opponents that outclass him by so much ... yet he manages to come out mostly unscathed. He survives and overcomes without valid reasoning why.
The Narrator is fantastic. He manages to give the characters a lot of personality and depth with his reading of them.
I am interested to see where it goes, but its not the greatest thing so far.

One minor complaint
The use of "the officer" to describe the MC over and over and over again. He is in another world.. if he was a pro gamer you wouldn't say the gamer to describe him... rant off.

An amazon book do yourself a favor and read it.
This book is amazing in its entirety there is not I would change about it. The author definitely has the start of another amazing series and I for one can't wait to read more.
One of the best things about this story is the interplay between all of the characters and the group the Dynamics of each character personality is flawlessly done. It feels as if the character's personalities were based on somebody in real life they're just that good. I also really like the way the story progresses it flows really well without adding the unneeded nuances that most book adds to move the story along. The narrator also did an amazing job of the pacing plus adding the inflection for each character masterfully done.

Fast-paced cultivation done well
Fun characters, good writing, and cool battles! I really enjoyed this book, and the overall quality stood out to me among my many listens. Bits of LitRPG are mixed in, in a quite clever way, but the numbers are kept sparse, which fit well. It could use a bit more worldbuilding and filling in of the culture, but I'm hopeful to see that in future books. The book kept moving and action flowing, so I didn't mind my unsatiated curiosity too much.
A tempting ending that absolutely leaves me wanting more, while not being a cliffhanger- much appreciated! Hopefully book 2 is on its way.

I enjoyed EVERYTHING about this book!
I enjoyed EVERYTHING about this book! The MC, a police officer in his former life, has a strong sense of justice and a desire to defend the weak that he takes with him into a new world. But he has a "lone wolf" mentality that makes him think he has to do everything himself. It got him killed on Earth and is a hazard in his new life.
I love that this is NOT a coming of age story. The MC is an adult, not a teen with high school drama or parent issues.
This has a bit of cultivation and a bit of game mechanics, but the system isn't explored too deeply in this book. I hope to get more details in the following books, but I thought the balance in book one was perfect.
The narrator does a FANTASTIC job bringing out the personality of each character. Five stars just isn't enough!
As with any great book, I wish it was longer. That said, I don't feel short-changed at all. This is a compete story and an excellent first installment for the series.
Get this book and enjoy the honey with me!

Great Narration, Interesting and Fun Story
Edge of Eons is a fun Gamelit/Fantasy novel with great narration a decent story and pretty good characters. My main complaint is the main character Roy who was a police officer seemed a bit inconsistent and really foolish at times or at the very least very undisciplined.
The story follows Roy who is a cop in Phoenix City in a futuristic earth. He has a chip implanted in his head that is kind of like the terminators and lets him scan others and gives him tips on other peoples strengths, weakness's etc. Very early on in the book he is killed in the line of duty while trying to catch potential cop killers, he gets himself killed by rushing into the situation without giving much thought or being very careful which seems to be a theme from him throughout the book which is my main issue for someone who seems like he should be smarter and more disciplined than that. After this death he is transported to another world where he 'wakes up' and finds himself in a vastly different world filled with many dangers.
In this world of Eon he must level himself up which in classic RPG style is done by killing monsters, fighting, training and leveling up. It turns out he was brought to this world by a God and is expected to make himself strong enough so he can become one of his champions for an upcoming battle/reckoning with other gods. The chip that was implanted in his head from earth is very useful in this world by being able to give Roy info on the world, his enemies and help him with learning skills and his training much quicker than the native inhabitants can. Roy quickly falls in with a small guild the Sky Wolves and they take him under their wing, some of them a bit reluctantly and help him find his place in this world.
Their are adventures and battles with monsters and enemies and a good amount of action. The narration by Andrew Tell was very good and really helps the story out. I have read/listened to a couple other books he has narrated and must say I am a fan as he has done a great job on all of them and is reason enough to give the book a listen.
I am interested in seeing where future installments of the series go and if they will continue to follow Roy or if they will switch up to the other character that was teased at the end of the book or if he will just be an addition.

Die a hero’s death in this world be chosen to be a hero in another
When a person dies a hero where do they go? Heaven? Valhalla? Or do they get chosen by the gods of another world in the multiverse to be a hero there and combat the evil that encroaches upon that world and perhaps the multiverse as a whole? that’s what happens to one phoenix city police officer. Died chasing down and battling 2 cop killers he falls to his death only to be reborn as a void adept in a world of good vs evil where there is no law but that of the strongest and most ruthless. Can he find others to help him? Can he begin to bring law to this world? Will his quest for justice be the death of him? Listen on and find out. A great tale that is well written and well narrated it touched upon the LITRPG style in some of its world mechanics and in others lends a feeling of stargate and Viking afterlife. Hope you enjoy it as much As I did. Can’t wait for the next installment. Ends on a real revealing moment. Great twist on the LitRPG genre
I’ve only read a few LitRPG books previously and enjoyed them, but I loved this twist into this game-like-non-game!!
Brilliantly written with a great story to get behind and superbly read! Andrew does a fantastic job with all the characters and the battle pacing is great and truly brings out the atmosphere!

To what do I owe this displeasure?
Roy Skyworth was an officer in the Phoenix City police force. He always liked to be in control so demonstrated it constantly by losing it and getting into fights. Until he misjudged one and was killed. But didn't die. Instead he was transported eventually to another !and where the High Gods claimed the daytime and the Dark Lords took the night. And there was constant fighting assisted by magic. Of courss, the angry idiot, Roy, fit right in as soon as he was slightly settled, amazing everyone with his amazing skills. Lots and lots of good fight action, colourful characters, and a bit of a background story, but not much by way of characterisation.
Good fun and well read by Andrew Tell, who brought to the listener a well delivered text, complete with gentle emotional infusion, and individual protagonist's voices. It suited the pace of the story even better when played back at 1.25 speed.
My thanks to the rights holder of Edge of Eons who, at my request, freely gifted me with a complimentary copy via Audiobook Boom. It was visually witten, and the one on one fights well choreographed and interesting. I would have preferred a better world building and fuller characterisation to further compliment the action, but it was sti!l an enjoyable read and a neat ending for a continuation.

I enjoyed it for the most part but it just couldn’t hold my attention and lost me about half way through, decent narration and entertaining story. It just failed to hold my attention
