Publisher's Summary

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Lexi Blake comes a story in her Masters and Mercenaries series…

Brian “Boomer” Ward believes in sheltering strays. After all, the men and women of McKay-Taggart made him family when he had none. So when the kid next door needs help one night, he thinks nothing of protecting her until her mom gets home. But when he meets Daphne Carlton, the thoughts hit him hard. She’s stunning and hardworking and obviously in need of someone to put her first. It doesn’t hurt that she’s as sweet as the cupcakes she bakes.

Daphne Carlton’s life revolves around two things—her kid and her business. Daphne’s Delights is her dream—to take the recipes of her childhood and share them with the world. Her daughter, Lula, is the best kid she could have hoped for. Lula’s got a genius-level intelligence and a heart of gold. But she also has two grandparents who control her access to private school and the fortune her father left behind. They’re impossible to please, and Daphne worries that one wrong move on her part could cost her daughter the life she deserves.

As Daphne and Boomer find themselves getting closer, outside forces put pressure on the new couple. But if they make it through the storm, love will just be the icing on the cake because family is the real prize.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

I love this series.

This book was so good. While it doesn’t have the action for suspense of some of the others is a very sweet story about the love you feel for the family you make. Boomer and Daphne were so sweet together and Lou is an amazing character I can’t wait to see more of her. Watching Kala and Lou interact and bond just gave a little more insight to what kind of adults they will be. And the Epilogue was an amazing surprise and I cannot wait to see the next generation of Taggart‘s and their friends. And as always Ryan West was perfect.

OMG YESSSSSS!!! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!

This is Boomer's story. I'm not going to give away anything but the story is excellent and hilarious. It's great fun to have Ian and Charlotte's teen hell spawn play into the storyline. I love those girls.

I laughed and found myself grinning at the dialogue on several occasions. Lexi Blake is balm to a weary soul. Ryan West is the only person who should ever, ever, ever narrate her books. He isn't, unfortunately, but he should be. He's perfect and I'm just a wee bit in love with his Ian. I'm absolutely in love with his Remy Guidry but that's a whole different review, lol.

Anyway, drop the credit. Buy it for the discounted amount with the Kindle purchase. Just make sure you get it because it's perfection and even includes a "far distant future" epilogue.

I'm going to go listen again.

Love Boomer

I can't wait for the future stories with the kids all grown-up. Main those are going to be some incredible missions. Boomer is the best! I love how he got and protected his girls and made a family. This was one of my favorites.

One of the best

Been waiting on Boomers story a long time & was we’ll worth the wait. His menagerie resembles mine. The addition of Lou was perfect. Loved the interaction of the other kids along with their spying & shenanigans. Great storyline and narration by Ryan West. Can’t wait for more. Highly recommend this book,

Adorable!

4.5
Omg.

So, this was so cute, but in true great LB fashion, there are those moments that make your gut clench because oh… oh Boomer. My heart.

I wish a couple parts were slightly more, but otherwise just a great novella!

Great story and narration

5 Star Review of Delighted (Masters and Mercenaries # 24.5) by Lexi Blake

It’s no secret that this is one of my favourite series and I know when I start a book by Lexi Blake that I am in for a riveting read and that is exactly what Delighted was. This is Brian “ Boomer” Ward’s story and I knew that the woman who would captured his heart and soul would need to be special and that is single mum Daphne Carlton in a nutshell.
I loved Lou, Daphne’s daughter and the relationship that she developed with Boomer made my heart melt. Daphne is focused on two things, her daughter and building up her business Daphne’s Delights.
The chemistry and passion that sizzles between Boomer and Daphne is steamy. However for me it was the development of their love story that took this book to another level. The family that they make was heart warming and I was so happy that Boomer found love and happiness, he really deserved it.
This story was everything I was hoping for and so much more. It was great to see other members of McKay Tagger make appearances and an added bonus was the appearance of members of the next generation which made me so happy.
A fabulous addition to the Master and Mercenaries series. Ryan West as always did a stellar job with his narration. To me he is the series.

awesome story

Boomer was due his own HEA. But the most fun part of this story was the machinations of the MT kids! And what a great epilogue.

Great series

I like this series and how everyone treats all the co-workers like they are family. The banter is wonderful and funny. Boomer, Daphne and Lou fit together like a real family from their first meeting. I really enjoy listening to Ryan West narrate.

Another McKay Taggart family special!!

Love every visit to these whacky folks and this was absolutely no different. Adored the characters of Lu and the animals. Ian with a ‘bird of his heart’ was fantastic!! Boomer is obviously a gem too. This was short but sweet. I desperately need another proper fix, not just a short novella. Please hurry it up!!! Five full stars though despite my whining for more!!

such a delight.

I loved this book as I have all the books in the M and M series. Big Tag is my most favourite character but I love them all.
The reader, Ryan West, has a remarkable range to paint a picture in my mind of the different characters.
Overall, another success Ms Blake.

What a wonderful series!

Oh Bomber - what a sweet sweet hero. He is so vulnerable, big hearted and lovable.
So enjoyed this vanilla story which made a good contrast to the more kinky sex of the other books. ( which I got used to as the characters and stories are so good.)
Loved the focus on intellectual diversity not intellectual superiority.
As I have written in other reviews of this book series, Ian Mctaggart is just such an amazing character, so glad it seems he will be leading the team of the next generation.
And Ryan West must must continue as narrator - he is Excellent as usual.

I think I’ve waited for you for a long time.

I absolutely ADORED this book!! Boomer has been around for a very long time (since Book 7 - and this is book 24.5) and I wasn't sure if he would ever get a story as he seemed to be around for comic relief and for his skills as a sniper. But Lexi Blake turned this side character into an amazing leading man with depth and character and flaws and a real "cinnamon bun" hero ... so darn sweet and gooey. Add his love interest in Daphne - a single mum who is a baker (and anyone who has read this series knows how much Boomer loves his food) and whose daughter Lou is AMAZING!! I loved this book - like two days after I finished it I started the audio because I wasn't ready to let it go! And that EPILOGUE ... oh man... AMAZING!!!!

Ryan West yet again brings this story to life to complete perfection!! I could listen to Ryan West as the M&M series characters all day every day!

Wow

OMG! This was amazing. Lexi’s done it again. This was such a story that no one reading it could not feel the love shared amongst these characters. Loved the animals and the MT family. The kids were amazing too.
Narration was awesome too.
