Publisher's Summary

A sexy and suspenseful new contemporary romance from New York Times best-selling author Lexi Blake.

High-end defense attorney Henry Garrison expected his newest case to be an easy paycheck. But his client Gillian Murphy is nothing like he expected. There's much more to the beautiful woman than he imagined. Gillian knows that she's innocent and that Henry is the best lawyer to represent her. But she doesn't know why she's so fascinated with him. He's hard and cynical, and he wonders if any woman can break through his well-placed walls.

As the case takes a wild turn and Gillian's entire life is upended, her very identity in question, she must look to the people she's closest to in order to find a killer. And Henry has to decide if the case is more important than his growing love for his client.

Wonderful listen!

I love Lexi Blake and Alexandra Shawnee and this one was top notch! The characters are great and the writing is so good. Alexandra Shawnee is one of my favorite narrators as well. I got a little lost in the story every once in a while but overall great. Can't wait for the next one!

Loved the story- narrator not so much

Had a terrible time listening to this narrator. So turned off I won’t get any more audiobooks that she has narrated. First time that has happened for me.

Can't even finish listening

I will have to read what I am sure is a good book. This narrator just grates on my nerves so bad I had to turn it off.

Entertaining As Always

Lexi Blake usually can't be beat for erotic suspense. This time; however, I saw everything coming way ahead of time. Also, Harry and Winnie don't leave me with the feeling that they belong together as do most of her protagonists.
Alexandra Shawnee did much better job at narration than I first thought. The farther it went on the more she (or the characters) improved..

Read Don't Listen

I'm generally a Lexi Blake fan and easy to please when it comes to listening. That said, Alexandra Shawnee is in my list of performers to avoid from here on out. Her voice squeaks when she reads, and it's in odd places. The story line as a whole was good and Lexi is able to keep a bit of suspense going through the last chapter. I synced this book to my Kindle and went from there.

Who wrote the summary?

The story is good and lives up to the expectations of a Lexi Blake story. But who wrote the review? Who is Gillian Murphy?
Two problems I had with story is that I read the other stories about Lawless clan and the storylines don’t match as a crossover. Lame but now a real big deal. Second is the narrator is not my favorite. I don’t love some of her character portrayals. Too shrill! But not the worst...

Great read

Loved it. Suspense remains throughout the book.
