Their scorching, sensual affair ended in heartbreak and recrimination, but Christian Grey cannot get Anastasia Steele out of his mind or his blood. Determined to win her back, he tries to suppress his darkest desires and his need for complete control and to love Ana on her own terms.

But the horrors of his childhood still haunt him, and Ana's scheming boss, Jack Hyde, clearly wants her for himself. Can Christian's confidant and therapist, Dr. Flynn, help him face down his demons? Or will the possessiveness of Elena, his seducer, and the deranged devotion of Leila, his former submissive, drag Christian down into the past?

And if Christian does win Ana back, can a man so dark and damaged ever hope to keep her?

Yes, it is another 50 shades book!

If you're a true fan of the Fifty Shades of Grey series you are always hungry to understand Christian just a little bit more. We understand that he is a complex person with a terrible background, but in this book you will get more of that history and a lot more of his true passion.

EL James was able to capture the Fifty Shades Darker book perfectly while including a more in depth background about Christian. With his point of view, the true feelings he felt for Anastasia from the beginning and the feelings he was forced to face with her leaving was spectacularly Demonstrated in this book . After reading Darker I fell in love with Christian even more.

As for Zachary Webber, he portrays Christian excellently and gives his raw feelings adequate emotions.

I am looking forward to Christian's version of Fifty Shades Freed. Thank you EL James for your commitment to the series.

Zachary Webber is a

Zachary Webber brings this tale to life. Glad to finally understand Leila a little clearer. While this love story is a bad attempt at BDSM erotica, it's better told from Christian's perspective.

Darker

I have listened to the FSOG trilogy and CG's POV. I think I am enjoying his POV's more and also Zachary Webber's narration.

I wanted to know more about Grey's childhood.

I thought she was writing about Grey's childhood, the crack whore and the pimp. How he came to be with Grace and his begining with Mrs. Robinson. It was boring at times because fans of 50 Shades already knew the story and loved the story that was just retold. found myself bored at times because I have alreay read and watched the books and movies.

So good!

Enjoyed Grey so excited to listen to Darker. I hope EL James is writing one for the 3rd book in the trilogy. Love the narrator. He adds so much to listening.

Awful

Any additional comments?

I loved the 50 shades books, but this version told by Christian makes him sound like a whiny, controlling little boy. Super annoying and the story line from his point of view was really drug out.

Aaaaaand Zachary Webber saves the day!

First of all- i hated this book but if Freed comes out w/Christian’s POV and Zachary Webber narrates it...I’ll buy it too; otherwise, I’M DONE! EL James did a shit job with this book! The only insight we got was with the other characters, not Christian. Books 1-4 ALREADY told us how Christian was feeling and just about what he was thinking. If it wasn’t for Zachary Webber’s talent and AMAZING voice, I would’ve sworn Becca Battoe re-read book 2 verbatim! Outside of the narrator, the best part of the book was the END!! I couldn’t WAIT for it to be over! I learned NOTHING more about Christian. She could’ve detailed Christian’s experience during the 4 days left w/his dead mom and she could’ve better illustrated Christian’s transformation w/his staff. Again, this story was a MAJOR disappoinment and only partially worth a credit. But hey- my ears were in bliss with thr voice coming out of my speakers. Oh - the only good part...again just character interaction not Christian’s inner thoughts, but the conversation with Grace & Christian was AWESOME! It was the only thing that made this story worth it. Unfortunately, it waa the last 15 minutes of the book lol! Grace’s reaction was an epiphany moment for me- bringing back memories of a scene between Christian & Anna in Freed. It sorta tied things together. Everything else EXCEPT the narrator was complete garbage!!

Love love love

This makes up for the crappy movie Fifty Shades Darker! I love every book in the series. I have them in paper and electronic. Fingers crossed that The third movie and book have the emotion of the books and the first movie because I am a loyal fan!

Mighty Fine Story.....

....as narrated by Zachary Webber. The 50 Shades Trilogy was my first foray into Erotica. Having just finished The Twilight Saga, it was Shocking and Intense, in all the GOOD ways. Lol. But when EL James first published Grey, I bought it and read it, without the burning need to get the next story. I blazed through the original series in a matter of sleepless days and nights filled with tons of caffeine, the occasional nap, and the loving help of a wonderful husband who has a similar love of the written word. He covered all my motherly duties for over a week while I got lost in the words of EL James and the story of Christian and Ana. So, I was sad that I did not feel the ache for the next story told by Christian to come out. Eventually, I moved in to other authors, enjoying the movies with a rented Cinetopia theater full of girlfriends for each release night. (Wearing masks, of course 😉). But I found other authors and was drawn into other stories and forgot about Darker when it released. During my reading journey I found that I was getting less and less done at home the more I was sucked into my love for reading. I eventually discovered that I could clean, do laundry, even run carpool (with earbuds) if I got some of my stories on Audible. One day I came across an audible story narrated by Jacob Morgan and I was mesmerized by his voice. His cadence and inflection were irresistible. I started to search for stories based on not only the description but by if he was narrating. During a series of Hockey romance stories, I cane across a story narrated by Zachary Webber, and was blown away by how much he sounded like Jacob Morgan. I knew that voice, I loved that voice. I instantly Googled both names together and found they were one in the same. So when I read that Zachary Webber was my voice crush, Jacob Morgan I had a whole new set of stories to research. It was a no-brainer when I saw that he narrated the voice of Christian Grey. My ache returned. I purchased Grey again, this time on Audible and Darker at the sane time. I have spent the last week indulging in over 30 hours of his sexy, and seductive voice. And I can’t WAIT for the final Audible installment of Freed to come out on Audible. BRAVO, Ms. James, bravo. Jamie Dornan was a weak Christian, but then again he is different in every readers mind...but she NAILED IT with the selection of Zachary Webber as the voice of Christian. I highly recommend listening to the stories on Audible, no matter how many times you have read the books. They do not disappoint when performed by Mr Webber! He aims to please, and please he does.
