Publisher's summary

Rob has hit rock bottom. After losing his son five years ago, he's lost everything else too—his wife, his job, and his home. His days are now filled with nothing but the bottom of an alcohol bottle and self-loathing. But when he's offered a chance to see his son again, he'll do anything to take it.

The catch? He has to damn an innocent life to eternity in hell.

Rob must confront the darkest depths of his own soul and face unimaginable horrors to see his son one last time. As he descends deeper and deeper into the abyss, he discovers that the price for his reunion may be higher than he ever could have imagined.

Damned to Hell is a heart-wrenching tale of grief, regret, and the lengths a person will go to see a loved one again.

Great Character Building

A dark, intelligent story, that pulled me right in. I was quickly invested and held in the story. Oh, and the ending! Perfect twist. Well done.

A compelling mix of what makes horror work.

It's reductive, but effective, to call this novella equal parts Butterfly Effect, Pet Semetary and American Werewolf. Elements of each of those stories are woven together here to deliver a grounded and gut wrenching tale of how far you'd be willing to go to see a loved one again. I empathized with motives, was surprised by genuine turns and left the story feeling like I'd been in the mind of someone who truly understands that horror is born and fermented in the mind.

Curtis Michael Holland has emerged as one of my favorite narrators and his engaging delivery elevates this story to allow it to envelop the mind. Sure, you'll see a thing or two coming, but just because you know a roller coaster ends where it begins, it doesn't stop you from taking the ride.

Highly recommended!

Mike Salt's story and Curtis Michael Holland's superb narration...a fabulous match made in, well, hell seems more appropriate than heaven for this series!

Ending with a twist

I enjoyed reading Damned to Hell. The story line is easy to follow with an unexpected plot. The ending is good as it provides a twist.

The more I explore this series....the more questions

Mr. Salt .....uh.... the story is great. I really enjoy these stories, but I am growing more and more convinced that the author is twisted. lol.

Wow! That Was Intense

I was just revisiting this book, preparing to read the others in the series. I had forgotten the intense emotion in this story. This tale of a father's love for his family and his struggles & sacrifices to keep them together broke my heart.
