Publisher's summary

Having been bolstered with the supplies sufficient to carry them through the winter, the survivors of the Jackson commune must now hunker down and endure the bitter Wyoming snows, while to the south, factions are beginning to form, coalescing from the ashes of the dead world.

Out in Arizona, the leftovers of the US Military encamped in the last known surviving tent city: the Elysium Fields.

In Nevada, a clan of scavengers grows ever larger, each day bringing them a step closer to collapsing under their own weight.

Resources are becoming scarcer by the day as the world trudges on, and as it so happens, the folks up in Wyoming appear to be sitting on prime real estate....

I am loving the Commune

Great series. Jake and his group, including Gibbs, are settled in the Bowl and are beginning to tackle farming. I love the group in the Bowl and am sad that they are being targeted by Ronnie. Ronnie is a member of Clay's group, and he wants to use Clay to try to get revenge against Gibbs and others who bested Ronnie in a road fight in Book 2. Clay is hard nosed and can be very harsh, but I like him because he seems to still have some moral sense and also a sense of fair play. I hate Ronnie, who is an evil person.

There is a third group, led by the military who also threaten the future of Jake's group in the Bowl. This group saved Wang, a member of Jake's group, who was injured in the road fight from Book 2. Wang has been brought back to the Bowl by the military group.

This is a very good book but I really liked the first two books in the series just a little better. I think this book is setting up the finale in Book 4 where Clay's group will attack the Bowl - but I will have to wait to see what happens. Also, Jake remains a mystery, which will probably be revealed in the next book.

RC Bray is fantastic, as always. He makes the books he reads even better than they are without him. That is a gift. And when he reads a really good book, it is heaven.

I am unable to convey how good this book is

I've read a ton to books, and I have a lot of favorites. But the Commune series is something special. Every aspect of the story captivated me, bringing me closer to the each character. The world building is superb and the plot development is wonderful. Not only that, though this book/series is fantastic, and easily one of my top three, it's R.C. Bray's narration that gives so much more life and energy to it all. it's like taking an already good sandwich my itself and adding more ingredients; condiments, spices, dressing, meats. It's great without it, but amazing with it. I highly recommend this series to anyone. Don't get turned off by the apacalyptic theme. there's nothing like the Commune series.

Masterfully written and narrated

I eagerly waited for this third installment but was concerned it could not live up to the first two books. It’s clear that my concern was misplaced.

Commune Book Three is near genius level work with characters and situations that show depth of planning and an eye for detail. The narrative is believable and draws you in, forcing you to invest in the characters as they face challenge and successes alike.

Bray puts his own mark on this work. His talent for bringing characters to life is unmatched.

I recommend this series and plan to heartily consume the coming volumes in this epic universe.

Realistic!

I was tired of zombie apocalypse books, when I literally stumbled upon this series. It has what I consider, a realistic plot. The way it is written draws the listener in. You get to know the characters on a personal level, R.C. Bray brings it all together with his great story telling voice. This is a great series to delve into and relax.
