Publisher's Summary

Maddox Kershaw is the main vocalist of the world’s biggest boy band. He’s at the top of every music chart, every award show, every social media platform, and every sexiest-man-alive list. He’s the bad boy, the enigma, the man everyone on the planet wants a piece of.

He’s also burned out and exhausted, isolated and lonely. Not in a good headspace at the start of a tour.

Roscoe Hall is Maddox’s personal manager. His job is high-flying, high-demand, high-profile, and he loves it. Maddox has consumed his entire life for the past four years. Roscoe knows him. He sees the real Maddox no one else gets to see.

He’s also in love with him.

When the tour and stress become too much, when the world begins to close in, Roscoe becomes Maddox’s lifeline. But as Maddox knows already, and as Roscoe is about to learn, the brighter the spotlight, the darker the shadow.

5 stars all the way!

Roscoe and Maddox are in my top 5 fave MM couples. Listening to Nick J Russo bring them to life is just *chef’s kiss* The level to which they love and respect each other is just so yummy! I love how Nic shows how Maddox’s anxiety slowly get worse and worse and how Roscoe supports him when needed. A 5 star read and a 5 star listen for me.

Reading this book is a Code Red!

Wonderful characters that were not petty or overly dramatic! They were real, struggled, laughed, loved and supported each other. The author showed the downside of fame- the suffocation/isolation that can occur. Even with the anxiety and isolation the band remained grateful and loyal to their fans and each other. If you like books about friendships, love and living the life of a rock star then this book is for you.

Nick J. Russo brought the characters to life. It was easy to understand who was speaking and just get lost in the story. Fantastic job!

I hope Walker comes out with another book in this series following some of the other band members. I want more! ❤️

Really enjoyed this one

In the classic NR Walker style, this was a great romance and an enjoyable read. I liked how this novel felt heartier to me somehow then maybe her past books have, but I did miss the back and forth style she has used in the past. Would have loved to hear more from the other main character’s perspective but still really enjoyable.

Amateurish, generic and completely forgetable

I chose this book for Nick J Russo, who does a great job. The story is bland and predictable. Both characters are hot, talented and nice. Nothing more is added. We are not privy to hopes, feelings, worries or any kind of development. Description of surroundings is nothing more than size of real estate and name of the city they are at. Except for Maddox's appearance there is no mention of clothing, body language and facial expressions.
Add to that the lack of plot, arc, surprises and drama, and the result is just words.

Pressures of a rock star

would never have thought about the pressures put on the people who give us all pleasure and the strain to the mind and body. With the love and romance of another man to help them through. Another gem from N R Walker who must have put a lot of work into this story

A great love story and overall read

I love this book both for Roscoe and Maddoxs love story told in a quiet way against the backdrop of a tour which shows the hard work and stress of coping with fame. The portrayal of Maddox anxiety and how he needs a touchstone works so well even down to the end where change real change is needed to make a difference.
The narration worked well for me almost if not quite the voice in my own head when I read the book and really that is my highest praise.

Outstanding!

The glitzy looking world of a pop band along with its darker underbelly is brilliantly portrayed in this moving story of sweet love and longing. I adored the slow unveiling of the personalities as well as the complicated lives they lead as part of one of the world's most popular musical bands. The story is gripping and heartwrenching as well as uplifting with some epically adorable moments. Just simply a brilliant read and I really hope this isn't the last we see of Atrous.
Nick J Russo's narration on the audio is outstanding and really brings the characters and emotions to life.
