Shocking, gritty, sad and hopeful. The second book shakes things up.
The Institute is determined to regain possession of Gem and Del. The fire elemental is pushing to set up a new court and is mistreating and torturing Torrent. Lesser demons are trying to capture or kill Gem, Del, Torrent and the Prince of Pride. Gem and Torrent become closer, but a new tragedy tears Torrent away. Everything is changing, and not for the better. Stunning ending.
