"Dominic was staring at me like he couldn’t decide whether to chop me into pieces or pull my hair and French kiss me."

Dominic

I got her fired. Okay, so I’d had a bad day and took it out on a bystander in a pizza shop. But there’s nothing innocent about Ally Morales. She proves that her first day of her new job in my office, after being hired by my mother.

So, maybe, her colorful, annoying, inexplicably alluring personality brightens up the magazine’s offices that have felt like a prison for the past year. Maybe, I like that she argues with me in front of the editorial staff. And maybe, my after-hours fantasies are haunted by those brown eyes and that sharp tongue.

But that doesn’t mean that I’m going to be the next Russo man to take advantage of his position. I might be a second-generation asshole, but I am not my father. She’s working herself to death at half a dozen dead-end jobs for some secret reason she doesn’t feel like sharing with me. And I’m going to fix it all.

Don’t accuse me of caring. She’s nothing more than a puzzle to be solved. If I can get her to quit, I can finally peel away all those layers. Then I can go back to salvaging the family name and forget all about the dancing, beer-slinging brunette.

Ally

Ha! Hold my beer, Grumpy Grump Face.

Author’s note: A steamy, swoony workplace romantic comedy with a grumpy boss hero determined to save the day and a plucky heroine who is starting to wonder if there might actually be a beating heart just beneath her boss’ sexy vests.

Ok so if you're looking for a steamy workplace with enemies to lovers romance you need to read this book. It's a rollercoaster and so fricken good. The enemies to lovers plot is hilarious, and has some of the best banter for a contemporary romcom. Great for those who like the banter from Tessa Bailey books.

I so love the story. It's so relatable the characters are so really Allie never gave up on helping her dad. Dominic was a loving father to their children. But he loved Allie like no other. Do this love exist anymore? This story warmed heart. 💖

I had forgotten how much I loved the story. The narration is divine, as usual, with York and Mallon. Chapter 70 gets me every time!

A truly wonderful story!

LS is such a good writer. Her wit is LOL funny! I wish she didn’t feel it necessary to have soooo much graphic sex. A little goes a long way. It shouldn’t become half the book for someone so talented. LS can do better than porn.

Talented

Love Lucy Score

I have listened to and loved 3 other Lucy Score books. I was excited to start this one, but when the female narrator read her first few male character dialog lines, I honestly thought it was a joke. What is that male voice supposed to be? And why is it so affected and comical?? To be honest, it was tough to listen to the male lead dialog that was supposed to be sexy, being read in her "man's" voice. Ironically, her regular narrating voice and inflections are fantastic, so I'm even more dumbfounded why she chose such a strange way of talking and making every single man sound like that. I can't believe no one else finds this as odd and annoying as I did!

What's with the narrator's "male" voices?

I haven’t read anything from this author that I didn’t absolutely love. The narrators did a great job!
