Story
Marty Bell knows what it's like to be bullied. He was the shy, overweight kid at school, and those memories have helped turn him into an excellent teacher - though he's never spread his wings beyond the remote northern village where he grew up. The last thing he needs in his life is the reappearance of Devlin Surtees, leader of the gang who made his schooldays so tough. Dev is the glamorous village hero now, flying acrobatics planes and fighter jets for the RAF. He’s just as spellbinding, handsome and infuriating as Marty recalls.

Story
It's 1946, and the dust of World War Two has just begun to settle. When famous archaeologist Rufus Denby returns to London, his life and reputation are as devastated as the city around him. He's used to the most glamorous of excavations, but can't turn down the offer of a job in rural Sussex. It's a refuge, and the only means left to him of scraping a living. With nothing but his satchel and a mongrel dog he's rescued from a bomb site, he sets out to investigate an ancient church in the sleepy village of Droyton.

Story
Greece in the age of heroes. Patroclus, an awkward young prince, has been exiled to the kingdom of Phthia to be raised in the shadow of King Peleus and his golden son, Achilles. “The best of all the Greeks”—strong, beautiful, and the child of a goddess—Achilles is everything the shamed Patroclus is not. Yet despite their differences, the boys become steadfast companions. Their bond deepens as they grow into young men and become skilled in the arts of war and medicine—much to the displeasure and the fury of Achilles’ mother, Thetis, a cruel sea goddess with a hatred of mortals.

A young, naïve but ultimately courageous hedge knight, Ser Duncan the Tall towers above his rivals—in stature if not experience. Tagging along is his diminutive squire, a boy called Egg—whose true name is hidden from all he and Dunk encounter. Though more improbable heroes may not be found in all of Westeros, great destinies lay ahead for these two . . . as do powerful foes, royal intrigue, and outrageous exploits. Featuring more than 160 all-new illustrations by Gary Gianni, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a must-have collection that proves chivalry isn’t dead—yet.

Story
The tale begins in Dark Age Britain, a land where Arthur has been banished and Merlin has disappeared, where a child-king sits unprotected on the throne, where religion vies with magic for the souls of the people. It is to this desperate land that Arthur returns, a man at once utterly human and truly heroic: a man of honor, loyalty, and amazing valor; a man who loves Guinevere more passionately than he should; a man whose life is at once tragic and triumphant.

Publisher's summary
This is the FoxTales edition of the book previously published by Samhain Publishing.
Other than the cover art and description, the book is the same.
Hundreds of years ago, on a wild sea coast, two bold-hearted men met in combat and love...This is the story of Caius, a Christian monk struggling to reconcile his sensual nature with his newfound faith, and of Fenrir, a ferocious Viking raider abandoned by his comrades and left for dead. When Caius takes pity on the wounded man, his brethren are horrified: what kind of wolf has Cai brought into the fold?
But only when Cai and Fen join forces can the monastery of Fara be saved from the raiders from the east. And Fara holds a secret worth guarding, a legendary amulet with the power to bind even the might of the Vikings. Fen, his heart divided between old loyalties and a new love, must make a decision which could shatter his own heart and Cai's into the bargain.
Will there ever be peace and a future for these brothers of the wild North Sea?

Gideon Frayne has spent his whole working life as a policeman in the village of Dark on Bodmin Moor. His first missing-child case is eating him alive. When his own boss sends in a psychic to help with the case, he's gutted - he's a level-headed copper who doesn't believe in such things, and he can't help but think that the arrival of clairvoyant Lee Tyack is a comment on his failure to find the little girl. But Lee is hard to hate, no matter how Gideon tries. At first Lee's insights into the case make no sense, but he seems to have a window straight into Gideon's heart.

The best so far
I have now read four of Harper Fox's books and this was the best by far, although I enjoyed all of them. Hamish Long's narration was so well done, I would give it a 10. A great piece of historical fiction, well researched, a wonderful love storyline, all that is needed in a great read. Highly recommended.

Such a Pleasure to Listen to
I had a bit of trepidation starting this book based on the plot but I was incredibly surprised at how caught up in the plot and the characters I became. The world that Fox builds is believable [I think historically accurate] , moving and compelling. Death, destruction, great sex and all the things a historical novel like this needs. This genre [as I've experience certainly not extensive] doesn't allow for very much variety in the roles that characters play. Someone is the top. Someone is the bottom. It seems a bit "old school" to me sometimes but that's a minor quibble.

PLEASE READ - I’m. Absolutely. Stunned.
If you don’t love, love then keep it moving. If you have issues with sex or gays, keep your Karen comments to yourself and kick rocks.
But if you love all the above then……
Beautiful. Stunning. Full of pure adoration and trust. This is absolute my favorite story of harper fox BY FAR!!
I love the subtle topics of what we still face today being woven into every thread of this story. But most of all I absolutely adore that this book is set in the way way back era where “religion” first started. I don’t love it because of the religion, but for its truth of how things have changed and the subtle retelling of what’s “conviene” for the teller. And what we fear most as humans is the unknown.
I am not a believer in religion by any means but I adore this telling of “god” and one’s belief and faith in one’s self.
But MOST of all; I love that this story is centered around two men who come together in love and faith and find a way to lead with grace and humility. They over come the toxic male perspective of what love should look like and I’m stunned so much that I wish I could read for the first time again.
B R A V O - Hamish Long!!! Freaking bravo to you!!

This book is a gem.
This is a beautifully written and narrated story. It was my first book by this author but it won't be the last. I highly recommend it.

Simply beautiful
Harper Fox has a way of writing that allows a reader to hear the seals, feel the cold or experience the love so plainly felt.

Must. Listen.
Wow. This is honestly one of the sweetest and best written romances I have listened to so far. It is long but gives plenty time for the story to develop fully. You don’t want to pass this one up.
