Hanging with the band

I'll admit this will sound stalker-y, but listening to this book, and the intimate stories shared by Mick Fleetwood, had me making excuses to drive somewhere, as I listen to these books generally in my vehicle. I'd just drive around my neighbourhood just so I could again hang out with the band. What a wonderful listen and I felt myself getting a little emotional as I could tell it was drawing to and end. Thank you for sharing your story an your music!!!

Compelling and candid look into the fascinating life of Mick Fleetwood

a long time fan of Fleetwood Mac I never knew I knew so little about the story of the band and the man whose name at carries.
Engaging story is strengthened and fueled by remarkably and enjoyably candid and honest self-appraisal by Mick Fleetwood. I particularly enjoyed his detailed account of his own life and the creation of the band’s magical songs and even more amazing dramas, of its symbiotic members who put their heart and soul into it’s success over and over again.
A great ‘read’and Mick’s soulful presence makes you feel as if you’re sitting in a room with him hearing the whole thing. Well done! 5 stars.

Loved it! Thanks Mick!!!

So interesting. I've been a fan since late 70s. This made me want to go back and investigate the Peter Green Fleetwood Mac era. As well as the later 1990 -2000 years I lost track of... Wow. Great and inspiring life story

An awesome book to read/listen to.

I absolutely enjoyed listening to this fantastic book. And having Mick Fleetwood reading his own written words was an absolute delight for me. Since I have been a long time huge fan of Fleetwood Mac ever since they 1st started. I definitely would/will recommend this beautifully written book to everyone who are fans of this amazing group.

Great Story, Boring narration.

I loved the book itself, as I had read the hard copy but this narrator made it hard to listen to. Almost a monotone voice.

Well done Mick.

Great story. Thanks Mick and all the members of Fleetwood Mac for great stories and great songs. Was a casual fan before but since I listened to the audio book I'm a bigger fan.

Better than expected

Fascinating, juicy, and inspiring. First chapter discusses how Mick’s dyslexia shaped his future. Amazing read.

Likeable but inept

Mick Fleetwood presents himself as charming and in many ways he seems to be. However, by the end of the book and the third wife the charm wears a little thin. Overall this was a very interesting memoir by a man I had never considered interesting before.
My brother told me to give it a chance because I love rock biographies. I am glad that I did because I really did enjoy the story Mick relays.

Excellent and well read.

Would you listen to Play On again? Why?

I would recommend it. I generally don't read books twice.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Mick, because he seems like a genuinely nice guy. I'd like to meet him one day.

What does Martin Dew and Mick Fleetwood bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I feel like I was inside of the story. I could relate to all of the characters. No one was put down, all perspectives were considered, and talents highlighted.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No

Any additional comments?

Well written, and well read. However between chapters 9-14 I felt there was a bit too much of repetition of facts.
