Publisher's Summary

A consummate insider as the girlfriend of Lindsey Buckingham, Fleetwood Mac singer and guitarist, Carol Ann Harris leads fans into the very heart of the band's storms between 1976 and 1984. From interactions between the band and other stars - Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton, and Dennis Wilson - to the chaotic animosity between band members, this memoir combines the sensational account of some of the world's most famous musicians with a thrilling love story. The parties, fights, drug use, shenanigans, and sex lives of Fleetwood Mac are presented in intimate detail.

With the exception of one brief interview, Carol Ann Harris has never before spoken about her time with Fleetwood Mac.

Insider Tell All

I'm a huge Fleetwood Mac fan and found it distressful to listen as Harris recounts nearly a decade of her relationship to Lindsey Buckingham. I felt like it challenged the love I have for the music. Regardless of the music, fame, and wild times, the abuse she suffers at his hand is heartbreaking and outrageous. Did anyone ever seek or suggest therapy as Buckingham displayed both bi-polar and rage disorder and Ms. Harris enabled their drug fueled battles?
The narrator is a little funny when she changes voices for different people and the writing a little clunky when everything starts as "Carol..." she's continually being brow beaten by the world. Though all in all it's a great insider's view to one of rock music's greatest bands even though it's often tainted and sad. I wish Ms. Harris success and happiness in a place I hope she saved for herself.

struggled to finish.

it is a harsh look at the world of Fleetwood Mac and gives a skewed perspective of certain members. I am not a fan of this book at all.

Was like being in the room with them!

Lived this book! Originally bought a hard copy when it first came out years ago; but was upset how my idols were being portrayed & pitched it. Now all these years later; I decided to revisit it after FM fired Lindsey last year right before their 50th anniversary tour. I now realize the author is telling the truth about the huge dysfunction & egos...which continue to this day. Enjoyed having this backstage pass into their heyday. Beautifully written & narrated.

Beautifully written book and a must read/listen

I absolutely loved this book. Every single line of it was full of painfully honest words. This beautifully written masterpiece had me laughing at goofy moments and crying at terrifying episodes of unconditional love for a complex megalomaniac. Reminded me of my younger days with a beautiful guitarist that had the same issues. Much love.

Interesting

It was a good read. Interesting, intriguing and believable. But like with most books, you have to wonder what parts are exaggerated or just plain not true. It was interesting to read how FM was like a disfuncional family but then not really a family. I do disagree that she came out with the book, especially after Lindsey Buckingham has long been married with kids. Why didn’t she come out with the book in the 90’s? - that’s just my opinion. He probably was an egotistical jerk, but what young pop star isn’t! No excuse for the alleged abuse.

Just skip this one

I love this subject (Fleetwood Mac) and this book is NOT it.
Terrible writing, terrible narration.
I actually could only get through half of it.
Ugh.

A backstage pass!

I was so obsessed with Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey Buckingham, and Stevie nicks when I was younger. This book is a must for fans that want to learn all about the underbelly of all their lives. I think the author does a great job at telling us about her life with Lindsey and the band and gives an honest account of the dysfunctional family the band was. It was a non-stop awesome, drug taking, fanciful, delusional world!
