Publisher's Summary

Dark, deviant, and deliriously funny, Jude Angelini writes in the colloquial vein of Charles Bukowski, using his unique, natural voice to tell stories from his life. He writes about his sexual encounters - both strange and intimate - alongside stories from his childhood and his tell-all experiences with "science drugs". Throughout it all, Jude is critical of himself and his actions, proving himself to be vulnerable, lonely, and extremely relatable. A stellar follow-up to Hyena.

Like listening to the voice inside my head

I've listened to both his books twice. I get lost in the stories. Reminds me of myself in a lot of ways. It will make you feel good, depressed, happy, sad. One minute you'll want to do every drug on the planet, the next minute you never want to touch drugs again. Peaks and valleys people. Peaks and valleys.

Essays

This is a collection of essays that show Jude’s experiences. I hope he finds his joy. Then I’ll know I’m able to as well.

Honest. Entertaining. Hilarious at times and tragic at others. Highly, highly recommend this book.

Honest. Entertaining. Hilarious at times and tragic at others. Highly, highly recommend this book. The very short stories are the perfect format and that Jude reads this himself is a treat to say the least. This needs to be its own HBO series.

Jude is not for everyone but give him a try

A white poet with a ghetto voice. Heartbreaking and bleak, insightful and inspiring. NPR should be all over him with praise. It’ll happen. Go Jude Go.

Dark Deep and Real

This book is not as light hearted as the first but it is just as raw and even more disgustingly honest. This book is all the truths we try to push to the back of our minds about ourselves and the ones we love. It takes a strong person to expose such prevledged information about themselves and Jude did just that. In a world where everything is filtered and shown in it's best light it's nice to hear something real by someone that doesn't hold 2 Phds and as always his voice was smooth and original. Thanks Jude

Worth it!

Worth the time and money from beginning to end. Glad it was Jude who read it cause you can hear the emotion in the words. Bukowski fans would enjoy both of Jude’s books it’s that raw real world content.

short but good

hummingbird is very good, but short.
it's a good thing that it has very high replay value.
Jude is surprisingly honest in a world full of falsehoods.
