Publisher's Summary

From Amazon best-selling author Jamila Jasper comes an original, sexy stand-alone novel.

Stop staring at the hot bartender!

Tessa’s ill-fated date with a “hotep” (you’ll see what I mean) seems to have a positive twist when she meets “her” hot bartender - Phil Tremblay. Phil is right for her in all the wrong ways and the last guy on earth she should end up with. He’s tattooed and foul-mouthed and can use his hands and tongue to push her to the edge of glory.

Tessa struggles to prove to herself and Phil that they aren’t meant to be together. Fate and the District of Columbia have other plans for her. Each ill-fated first date with a potential new boo leads back to the bad boy, Phil Tremblay. Is she in bad boy heaven or single-woman hell?

Let's get real...if a wild and exciting romance with plenty of steamy romps between a strong-willed African American woman and her dominant white alpha isn't your cup of tea, you'll want to pass on this one. If you enjoy filthy hot romance, emotional interracial romance, and a pregnancy journey, you're in for a treat! No cheating, no cliff-hangers, and guaranteed HEA. This is a 100 percent original WMBW romance novel.

Yeah It's that Good!

I loved this book and would read it again, especially the first chapter HILARIOUS.
Tessa a high class lawyer self confident and independent has problems with making a love match. All of the men that she met seem to take her to the same restaurant where Phil the bartender worked who also had eyes for her. Each fail relationship at this restaurant ended with her and Phil in a sexual encounter. Phil knows that Tessa isn't right for him because she was successful and he was a nobody just making ends meet.

narrative sucked

the first chapter was so insensitive a Black woman should have did the narration and I, don't know one black man who believes the white man and pork is the reason for a woman's periods and black people do tip when service with respect.

Bad Boy Heaven

Professional black woman gets her bad boy. This book was really good and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Addison Barnes did a great job with the narration. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Rough start

It was kind of hardcore in the beginning the way Phil talked to Tessa was harsh but I needed a quick audio for a drive and decided to give it another try. It got a little better but Tessa is annoying, the dialogue was repetitive, and don’t know if I missed it or what, but the relationship went from 0 to 100 in like one page. Everything did. It got the job done but I didn’t like like it much

I would rather have my credit returned.

The narrator 's male voice was much better than her voice for the female character. The story would've been much better with a Black woman to narrate. Other than that, the story was passable. But again the narrator left much to be desired.

Better than I thought it would be

Tessa is an attractive, affluent black DC attorney who who goes on a series of terrible dates that keeps taking her to the same restaurant where Phil, her tatted friend-with-benefits, bartends. Tessa's bad luck moments were hilarious and Phil is there to kiss away the pain. I love this couple's banter and chemistry. Phil is constantly on his feet working, so it's understandable that the only time he gets with Tessa is watching her in the restaurant on her awful dates before having his way with her when she leaves the dates for him. Not to mention that Tessa feel that Phil can't be anything more to her because of his bad boy nature. Therefore, the book is filled with erotic moments between them to where one would wonder if there was anything else to their relationship. I still felt satisfied with this story and enjoyed how everything came together in the end.

Not bad

This story made me laugh out loud with Tessa’s dating antics. The cycle she went through to finally opening her eyes was pretty hilarious. The narrator’s voice was well suited for the Tessa’s character; unlike other BWWM books recently listened to.

Cute

I read a lot of Ms Jasper's stories. I don't often listen to the audio versions of them, but this was ok.
At first I was a little thrown off by the sound of the narrators voice because I didnt think it matched how I saw this character when I read the book. However, the narration is good and you kind of get lost in the story. So good job.

I love BWWM stories and there needs to be more available on Audio. Keep them coming.
